This image just has a statue of a fox on one side and text in some foreign language on the other. The fox hardly even looks like a fox. (Granted, it's probably supposed to be some variety other than red fox, but the red fox is the one people think of most often.)

At least Those Wily Coyotes has a coyote with the kind of facial expression associated with wily characters... so I figured, perhaps we could do something similar for this. And when I thought "fox with cunning-looking facial expression" Fox McCloud quickly came to mind. And then I realized that with that character I could get not only the expression but perhaps other visual elements to back it up while I'm at it. This page has a variety of screenshots and official art of Star Fox, but I already picked a couple sample images, resized to fit within 350 pixels wide.

[up] Nice pics, but I don't really get "cunning" from them.

Star Fox says more skill and force than cunning.

Also, that statue doesn't look like a fox? I think it clearly looks like one...

This page has two funny pictures, but they're not good page material. The Fauxtivational Poster would be awesome if it wasn't exactly that.

It's a bit hard to find a good picture. Well, I'm looking for real ones, so that's probably one reason... Anyway, maybe one of these: [1], [2].

Apparently, Sneaky Fox is a brand of pantyhose. Didn't know that.

The Internet misuses, abuses, and overuses everything.

[up] I meant it doesn't look like the kind of fox people think of when they think of foxes. (Ie. The red fox.) More to the point, even if it was more clearly of a fox, it still wouldn't be very otherwise indicative of cunning. Anyway...

That's a cropped and resized version of [1] from the previous user's post. It's not ideal; and I think we should keep looking; but at the very least that would be an improvement over what we have now if we don't find something better.

[up] I like that.

I'd love to get some panels of Reynardine from Gunnerkrigg Court, but he doesn't look like a normal fox and that could be confusing.

[up] The art style in both images is pretty bad, and I'm not even sure what's going on in the first of them. I still prefer the one of the fox opening the rabbit's cage.

Didn't see the "opening the cage" part until it was pointed out.

Art style can't be bad. I like 6.1 also; better than 6.2 IMO in that it gives some context.

@Matt

I agree with you about 6.1 actually, but you can't insult Quentin Blake's artwork like that.

What about one of these? [1] [2] [3]

Actually, I'll be perfectly blunt: I don't like Quentin Blake's art style. Never have. Seems far, far too scribbly and scratchy to me. I understand that his art is pretty much out-and-out synonymous with Roald Dahl novels (especially in the UK), but that doesn't mean I won't prefer other artists' interpretations.

Why not?

EDITED IN: On a sidenote, here is another version of the image I linked to earlier. The "dinner is served" part might make the chain a bit more noticeable.

I like 6.1.

I like the idea of 4.1, but it's not clear in the image that he's pulling the wire. If that could be photoshopped better, I'd support it too.

Rhetorical, eh? ... Eight!

[up] You mean, like with arrows pointing to the wire or something?

It would look better with the lines of the wire made more distinct.

That was the amazing part. Things just keep going.

It looks more like they were edited out of the image; is that the case?

Anyway, here's what I was referring to:

It doesn't need arrows. If you just make the wire brighter or whiter, it would stand out more.

[up] Both of those are pretty good, but the one of the fox hiding the chicken is the best. The real-life one seems a bit more vague.
