And that's any kind of spoiler, btw, even the "wait and see" kind of spoiler. Everyone should post here if they want to, just be mindful of what you're saying people.
So. Queef of Darkness, amiright? Holy shit the ending to that episode was amazing.

It is now. Although, Mads has a starring role in one of the upcoming Star Wars movies.
I think it's kind of a moot (pardon the pun) point though in that this assumes that he was in the running.
Just because someone is a favorite fan casting doesn't always mean that's who is being looked at- in part because fans aren't always the best judges of things/are operating from a smaller reference pool than a casting director.
As a contrasting example, Indira Varna and Alexander Siddig were popular fan casts for Dornish characters and were actually cast, but Varna is a Rome-alum and no offense to Siddig, but I don't think he's as big of a star as most of the names who were popular suggestions for Euron.
Hey, remember when fans thought Pedro Pascal was a bad choice for Oberyn?
... fans are idiots.
But then again, the creators thought... whoever Daario's first actor was was a good choice, so maybe everyone's an idiot.

But yeah.
Ian Mc Shane could also be playing Aeron, considering the way things are going.
"All you Fascists bound to lose."That's true but Ian doesn't look like a Greyjoy.
I mean that means nothing much but considering all the Greyjoys look similar especially within the show, eerily enough, I feel like it wouldn't work.
Ian Mc Shane is either Randyll Tarly or Rickard Stark (Ned's dad) .
I mean he's◊ got curly black hair. He also looks like he could pass for Jon Snow's grandfather.
Plus it explains why Jon and Robb have curly hair.

"You can't change the world without getting your hands dirty."Ian could be playing a multitude of characters, really. There's the mysterious "politically minded Northern lord" they announced casting this season.
Eh, you could make a case for him being a Greyjoy. While he doesn't share many physical similarities to the other actors, he posesses the Greyjoy trademark, which is Icy Blue Eyes. Balon has them◊, so does Theon◊, Euron will have them◊ and noticeably, Ian McShane also has them◊.
Though of course, he's probably Randyll or the northern lord.

Not complaining, just... commenting.

The sad, REAL American dichotomySamwell Tarly has a sexy as Hell brother. Freddy Stroma will be playing him
Say to the others who did not follow through You're still our brothers, and we will fight for youIt would make sense, really. From what Samwell tells us, his father hated him for not being "manly" enough. Presumably this extended to his physical traits as well (Sam probably inheriting more of his mother), while his brother Dickon, the prodigial son, would be his father's heir in every way, including appearance.
I strongly hope they don't make him a jackass. I say this for personal reasons more or less, the way the Tarlys are described (a "unmanly" son dishonored by his manliness-obsessed father in favor of the "manly one") is basically my family's life story and in this context I'd be Dickon Tarly ("the manly one").
I don't wanna be the jackass son, man.
Well I also legitimately think making Dickon a well-meaning and friendly brother to Sam, but still under his father's thumb, would make him more complex and parallel Tyrion and Jaime's relationship.
"All you Fascists bound to lose."I'm hoping HBO and Game of Thrones live up to their reputation

I'm completely in agreement here. I also hope they don't make Dickon an idiot neither. It's fine if he's not as smart as Sam but please don't make him a cliched dumb jock.
Also looking at Dickon, it makes it even less likely that Ian Mc Shane is playing Randyll Tarly. He looks nothing like either of his sons unless they take after their mother in coloring.

"You can't change the world without getting your hands dirty."Probably the best route would be making him ignorant of great knowledge but not disdainful of great knowledge. It'd make sense for him to be somewhat ignorant when compared to Samwell because A) Sam is a bookworm B) Randyll evidently has some pretty strong anti-intellectual vibes, so Dickon would probably steer clear of most knowledge forms as a result of his influence.
I'm imagining the sort of person who picks up a tome, look at it mildly confused then puts it down, unaware of its signifiance, rather than the type of person who looks at it, scoffs and throws it against a wall.
Curiously enough, if Dickon takes after his father (i.e legendary swordsman, rider and commander) then this amusingly means Sam and Dickon complement each other, one is a bookworm with knowledge in a great many things, and one can crack skulls.

"All you Fascists bound to lose."Books about battles, tactics, historical generals and the like are probably ok. Right?
Probably, though we don't know how far Randyll's anti-intellectualism and battle methodology goes. It's possible he also detests historical and tactical books and believes a man should just find his own way to conduct a battle while in the thickest of the battlefield.
"All you Fascists bound to lose."I get the feeling the show's gonna have Dickon constantly flirt with Gilly.
Maybe have Gilly blush around him too just to annoy Sam.
"You can't change the world without getting your hands dirty."So... GOT fucking cleaned up at the Emmys last night. It won 12 awards, which is apparently a record.
This is really, really disappointing because this season was, in my opinion, not very good. "Mother's Mercy" won best directing, and freaking "Unbowed, Unbent, Unbroken" was in the running. Good lord.
This is worrisome to me because despite being the weakest season, it did really well. Kinda makes me feel like they'll just be like "well, fuck it. We're apparently doing some thing right, let's put in more Sand Snakes and nonsensical plot points."
Found a Youtube Channel with political stances you want to share? Hop on over to this page and add them.Unlikely, given that I believe the scripts were written months ago...
Hey, the Walk of Shame alone was Emmy material, IMO.
And I'd say that, while unfortunate things happened in "Unbowed, Unbent, Unbroken", the actual direction was quite good.
Anyone who assigns themselves loads of character tropes is someone to be worried about. It's funny. I made a "bet" with myself that the first post in one or both of the GOT threads this morning would be someone angry at the win. And I was right.

Most casual viewers liked this season just fine. This has been the case with all seasons, really. Though, ironically, the first one has been the "lowest rated" so far.
It is sometimes an appropriate response to reality to go insane. For the Winterfell bit in UUU maybe.
... but the rest of the episode? Kinda awful. Dorne was at its nadir of awfulness. King's Landing is at the most idiotic of its Idiot Plot (though I suppose that's more writing than directing...), and that was when Tyrion and Jorah's Excellent adventure went to Contrived Coincidence junction.
Mother's Mercy wasn't as bad, but the sheer number of Diabolus ex Machina involved was just sloppy, along with that fact that a lot... kinda didn't make any sense and was powered by idiocy, but the directing was fairly solid, Fridge Logic and Narm aside.
