Disney's The Graveyard Book:

Heaven Shattering Spark
Disney's doing a stop-motion version of The Graveyard Book, to be directed by Henry Selick. This will be his second project after going back there, the other one being a movie called Shademaker.

Well, Selick's last adaptation of a Gaimen book was great.

It'll be interesting to see how the characters are designed. I love the job that Chris Riddell did in the British edition, but something tells me that's not the direction they're going to take... especially since I think it'd be really hard to ever recreate his drawings in stop-motion format. [lol]

Selick? YES!

Stop-motion? YES!

Disney? Uhh...

[up][up]Well, they didn't recreate Dave McKean's illustrations from Coraline in the film version, so it's unlikely that they'll do that.

[up] Neil Gaiman book. Basically the Jungle Book, but in a graveyard with a kid raised by the ghosts and other creatures there.

I'm hoping this will be awesome, because The Jungle Book is one of my favorite Disney films, and Neil is one of my favorite authors.

If only they would get Tim on board... oh wait they got Henry Selick? Never mind, we're good!

ADHD? Bitch please, those are battle instincts!
Hey guys, don't be down because Disney is handling it! Besides, remember The Nightmare Before Christmas ?

I'm so excited for this!! It seems like Stop-motion animation is really starting to go through some sort of a Golden Age! We've got Pirates!, ParaNorman, Frankenweenie, and now a new Selick/Gaiman film to add onto the list of new stop-motion films?! YEE-HAW!!

...sorry, got a little excited there. Anyways, I hope Selick handles this as beautifully as he did Coraline and Nighmare. I've loved all of his films, and have full confidence that this will be just as wonderful as his previous work. Can't wait.

The system doesn't know you right now, so no post button for you.
You need to Get Known to get one of those.
