Cause this needs to get done, and a couple of people working on +10,000 wicks just won't cut it.
What needs to be done:
- Clean up every HONF page, removing first person, this troper, context-less examples, etc.
- After being cleaned, move the page to the Nightmare Fuel namespace. If it is locked, you can ask for it to be unlocked here. See How to Move a Page for more information.
- Remove all wicks to Nightmare Fuel, High Octane Nightmare Fuel, and Accidental Nightmare Fuel that do not appear on a YMMV page, a Nightmare Fuel page, or a trope description.
- Change correct High Octane Nightmare Fuel wicks to Nightmare Fuel.
Add finished pages to the sandbox page so we can keep track.

Thank you septimusheap and mlsmithca for cleaning up the nightmare fuel vanity plates section. that page was looking a lot like troper tales, and less like an actual page.
The Pokemon Nightmare Fuel page is in dire near of a cleanup. It goes on for far too long, there's a far bit of natter, a lot of the examples are just people trying to pass off theirĀ WM Gs, and finally (and most importantly) most of the examples are not scary. At all. They're mostly all just extreme overreactions from a group of oversensitive people. I understand the concept of YMMV, but that page is just too ridiculous. Could some people help me get rid of the more daft entries? Thanks!
I'll give it a look soon. That was one page that I'm not sure anyone brought up when we did the initial super-duper cleanup all those months ago. I thought it was kind of ridiculous, too.
On my way there, I noticed that there is now a NightmareFuel.Battle Arena Toshinden page on the VG Nightmare Fuel index... and it's empty. As in, it's red linked. Can someone please look into that?
Edit: I took a stab at the first few folders ("Glitch Pokemon and Other Hacks", "The Misery of Orre", and "Menacing Moves"), pruning the natter, the sillier entries, and bold/italics emphasis. But it definitely needs more work.

Many of the Accidental Nightmare Fuel wicks are In-Universe examples. How do we do with these?
"For a successful technology, reality must take precedence over public relations, for Nature cannot be fooled." - Richard FeynmanIf they're in-universe, I'd say leave them...asking the rest of the staff for opinions.
My main concerns are that a) it's People Sit On Chairs and b) that we are still supposed to put examples in Nightmare Fuel and c) that it misleads editors into thinking that you can add examples of Accidental Nightmare Fuel.
"For a successful technology, reality must take precedence over public relations, for Nature cannot be fooled." - Richard FeynmanWhat was the opinion on this? Accidentally Scared would be a better name for an In-Universe trope in my opinion.
"For a successful technology, reality must take precedence over public relations, for Nature cannot be fooled." - Richard FeynmanI never got a response back...you might want to holler it.
I thought of doing that too, but hollers seems to be understaffed at the moment.
"For a successful technology, reality must take precedence over public relations, for Nature cannot be fooled." - Richard FeynmanGo for it, it's never a bad thing.
Small question: Why did the Nightmare Fuel link get axed from the Author Phobia page? The whole point of that trope is that an author draws on his or her own personal fears to try to create a scene that's scary to the audience as well.
I put that one back after re-checking the OP.
Thanks. I thought about adding it back myself, but I figured I'd check here just in case I was missing something.

Are in-universe examples acceptable? (E.g., "in universe, characters X and Z find Y to be this.")

I suggest to look hard whether a) there are better tropes or b) it's People Sit On Chairs.
"For a successful technology, reality must take precedence over public relations, for Nature cannot be fooled." - Richard FeynmanMost of them aren't really elaborated enough for me to feel comfortable moving them. The list of such pages is in the above post.
And what about WMG, Tearjerkers, etc.? Are we also removing wicks from there?
These examples, without further context, are too chairsy for me to keep them comfortably.
"For a successful technology, reality must take precedence over public relations, for Nature cannot be fooled." - Richard FeynmanWouldn't they be cases of nolo contextere, then?

The Revolution Will Not Be TropeableI've been culling links from all non-YMMV pages, and removing non-bulleted NF wicks from NF pages. The in-universe examples...I've been leaving them, but if you want to cull them or move them to the discusson page(s) you'll get no argument from me.

What are you up to? I looked over the "A"s, but I think you have already gone over that (or somebody has).
I did, many moons ago.
"For a successful technology, reality must take precedence over public relations, for Nature cannot be fooled." - Richard FeynmanYeah, the A's are pretty much done (so far) except for those links above. Working on B's right now.
Many of These redirects have inbounds. Also, the actual usage of NF and HONF isn't very different.
