Still not sure how these threads are working. But for the time being, I'd like to keep this discussion between the P5.

Monster Girl Quest is a porn game, there's no question about that. The battle mechanic involves the main character fighting off monster girls who are trying to rape him.

But the thing is, not only is the plot excellent, the porn is not. It's actually rather horrifying, most of the time. I can't imagine a giant scorpion girl was ever intended as anything but creepy as hell.

This isn't like Fate/stay night. FSN got an anime adaptation which removed the sex scenes *

okay, technically there's one sex scene in the anime, but you won't even know it is a sex scene if you're not told

, and the plot still made perfect sense. Anything like that usually gets a free pass from me.

Monster Girl Quest makes no sense without the sex scenes. I'm sure someone could find a way to remove them without damaging the plot too much, but it would require major rewrites. But again, no one plays this game for the sex, because the sex is freaky creepy.

So, what to do? The page hasn't caused any problems so far, but I'd be willing to lock the page if that's what it takes to keep it. Of course, if everyone else disagrees with me, I'm not going to raise a fuss. It's got it's own wiki that the page can be shoved off to if we have no other choice.

This review summarizes what I just said from a slightly different perspective, and is a pretty good summary of what the fanbase in general thinks.

My first impression on initial research was that it's irredeemable, but given your points I'll give it a second look. I'll get back to you later on after work today.

And no, it's porn. Do I find any of the multitude of explicit images a GI search came up with arousing? Of course not. But I'm sure plenty of people out there do, the same people who like tentacle porn. This is just monster girl porn. I vote devil-head.

Hm, to be honest, I'm not too sure we can keep without, at the very minimum, a cleanup and some curation. From what I've seen, and heard from the two of you, this appears to be rather pornographic.

From the images I've been able to find, it looks like this game is definitely trying to play to the "shotacon" fetish. I'm not seeing much reason not to straight up cut it at this time.

The protagonist is of undetermined age, but over sixteen and under twenty-one. Probably eighteen. His appearance varies depending on which artist is drawing at the moment.

There are reasons to cut this, that other people have noted (obviously, I'm looking for a solution that doesn't end with that). Shota content isn't one of them.

Perhaps I'm mistaking fan art for official art, then? If anyone can point out some official artwork that clears up the "identifiable pre-pubescent" issue, I'd appreciate it.

Only found two SFW pics (in h-game tradition, there are basically zero pics of the guy). One is from the artist who draws everyone like that◊ and the other is just his face◊. So I doubt that's helpful.

Again, there are plenty of things to discuss about this game without worrying about the art style. I mean, if that's your only gripe with it, then sure, but it doesn't seem that way.

Eh, the art style doesn't bother me; it's that, just by Googling images pertaining to this work with the Safe Search Filter set on Moderate, I can't find a single SFW image for it...

It's not the only problematic element of the game no, but the issue of the protagonist's apparent age would definitely make a difference between voting to straight up cut, or to look at a potential alternate solution.

I'll continue researching this, for now.

I voted devil head, but didn't close it out since I wasn't sure what disposition the others who voted wanted to take (cut versus clean and lock.)

For what it's worth, the amount of porn content as well as the nagging issue of potential for playing to the "shota" fetish made me ok with the cutting option, so I don't take issue with whoever closed it out.
