Transdimensional Ship describes the intersection of Multiple Endings and Shipping, where no one possible ending is an Official Couple. This doesn't seem sufficiently distinct from Multiple Endings, and the wick and inbound checks bear this out.

Alternatively, it could be considered an aversion of Official Couple.

Regardless of how you view it, it's not thriving:

Main.Transdimensional Ship found in: 12 articles, excluding discussions.

Since January 1, 2011 this article has brought 1 person to the wiki from non-search engine links.

Three non-index, non self-referential wicks, only one inbound. Googling reveals that the term seems to be TV Tropes-exclusive in this context—the results are all about spacecraft.

So it's "multiple love interests exist, also you might ship more than one of them"?

That's not a trope. That's not even a thing. Nobody has ever used this term, ever. There is no point cataloging this. Kill it.

When I see this trope, I think: "A ship that can go to different dimensions. Parallel universes and multiverse do count." Delete everything there, and do that. As for the deleted...

Looking at the examples on the actual page... They're not very good.

This battleship should go where most battleships go when referenced.

Whoa.

As I recall, we had a central thread to deal with lots of shipping-related pages with awfully punny names. What happened to that?

Rhetorical, eh? ... Eight!

[up]It's in Special Efforts. Do you want to throw it back here so that we can crowner all the renames and other options in that thread?

Crowner called as overwhelmingly in favor of a redefinition to mean vessels that travel between dimensions. To do:

  • Write a description for the new trope.
  • Collect examples for the new trope.
  • Send the new trope through YKTTW.

I'm bad, and that's good. I will never be good, and that's not bad. There's no one I'd rather be than me.

OK, so does anyone have a good writeup for such a trope? Should this be cutlisted in the meantime?

[up]No. *Facepalm*

Is Interdimensional Travel Device exactly the same as Transdimensional Ship?

Any device would do, rather than a ship a of some sort, but yeah, pretty much. I'll nuke the YKTTW.

At this point, I would simply merge this into Interdimensional Travel Device.

Well, Interdimensional Travel Device isn't strictly restricted to being a vehicle... that said, the page does have vehicles on it (The TARDIS from Doctor Who). I would be inclined to say that the device being a vehicle specifically isn't enough of a distinction to warrant its own trope.

A Transdimensional Ship would have an Interdimensional Travel Device. Just like your average sci-fi starship has Faster-Than-Light Travel. The ship and the engine are not the same.

So, what do we do? Redirect the page to Interdimensional Travel Device, cut the wicks (unless they refer to actual ships) and YKTTW Sci Fi Spaceship?
