Eh, I think we were referring to Apocalypse Zero, not Cool Devices. We're happy to get rid of the latter.

@ Willbyr: I probably should've tried a rewatch of Wicked City before flagging it. I just remember it being very frighteningly sexual in a manner similar to Urotsukidoji (did I spell that right...?), and probably should've phrased the analogy better.

I've seen bits and pieces of Cool Devices, and that's one that I'd definitely call porn.

BTW - just putting Cool Devices doesn't take you to the page. You need to namespace it to Cool Devices. Just so the damn thing gets deleted ASAP.

It's definitely getting a devilhead from me.

My library has never been good about shelving things in the right place. Ranma 1/2 in the kids section was one of the least eyebrow-raising choices they ever made in that regard. My mom single-handedly made them change their shelving policies after the horrible double-punch of Legend of the Overfiend and Cool Devices, and a nearly disastrous family screening of the first five minutes of the Evangelion movie. You know the one.

Wow...I feel slighted for only watching Robotech and The Mysterious Cities Of Gold when I was a kid. Then again, I was watching The Thing and the original A Nightmare On Elm Street by sixth grade...

Well, any explicit anime I saw as a kid wasn't a case of Animation Age Ghetto or anything, but my older brother renting them and not caring if I watched.

Hmmmm, I'm reading the manga of Apocalypse Zero (because I'm a schmuck like that and someone else has the OVA). About one volume in, and so far, while I'd call it horrendously graphic with its violence*

...I sure as heck can't call it pedopandering, since all the characters are highschool age or above.

Pornographic...eh...honestly, this is where I'd call it borderline. Two of the most sexually explicit characters in there are the villains, and every single thing about them is played for horror. But the sexual content that is in there is extremely in-your-face and graphic *

. Aside from a few lewd references here and there, the other characters are not really sexually explicit in the slightest...well, aside from the main male character constantly being shown in his underwear to show off his inhumanly buff physique...

Anybody else wants to review the rest in a more "proper" fashion, here. Happy reading.

I've seen some clips of Cool Devices over on Redtube. It's definitely porn, and its rep as one of the most depraved Hentais out there is pretty well-deserved. How it got past the initial purge is beyond me, but it's definitely not something we need on this wiki.

(Sorry, couldn't be bothered to do a full review.)

Okay, seen Apocalypse Zero OVA Episode 1 (Raw). It's not paedo-pandering, and it's not porn. Any sexual elements / nudity present are mixed with a copious amount of gore and horror, and can hardly be considered to have been made for purposes of arousal.

...And for the record, it's Bloody Hilarious.

I think we can keep this.

On the other hand, as mentioned in the Eiyuu Senki thread, I found H-CGs of multiple underaged characters. I wouldn't say that the game is primarily paedo-pandering (most of the characters with such scenes are at least teens or adults), but the presence of such content indicates that we're probably going to have to cut it.

[up][up]The art style? The gameplay? *shrug* I'll admit that the character designs / interpretations are... interesting, and there seems to be a solid S-RPG element, but in the end, depicting explicit sex with pre-teen girls pretty much makes it non-kosher.

And Eddie ANNOYINGLY removed examples from gorn, locked it, then didn't even respond to my PM. Can't we make a rule that if something like that happens there has to be a good explanation as to why? And "creepy examples" doesn't count.

EDIT: And what is this "paedo-pandering" thing?

EDIT 2: And as a side note, whatever happened to Troper Tales?

There is a thread pinned in Wiki Talk that explains the whole "creepy" thing. I suggest you read that before posting here. Troper Tales and all that have nothing to do with this.

Wait, I wasn't the only one who received a childhood introduction to Hentai via poor Blockbuster shelving policies? Should we start a support group? tongue

But yeah, Anime.Cool Devices can go for sure.

It would appear that Cool Devices was cut (the page is locked) but Anime.Cool Devices did not get cut.

Fast Eddie was very, very sloppy when he cut the hentai index. He only cut whatever pages were listed on the index, and many of those hadn't been properly updated for namespace changes, so he ended up cutting several redirects without actually getting the real content on the namespaced page.

I remmber having to put Manga.Boys Empire and all its subpages on the cut list after the redirect on Main.Boys Empire got cut.

If any mods have access to the source code of the stuff that was cut on the various porn and hentai indexes, they might want to go through and make sure that all the subpages and namespaced pages actually got cut.

What sane library would even carry Legend of the Overfiend to begin with?

My libary is very good about how it deals with manga and other graphic novels. They have a teen section where the bulk of the shonen/shoujo stuff goes, while the stuff (like Negima) that the publishers rate as being 16+ or higher goes in the adult section. Only clearly little-kid stuff goes in the juveline section. Porn is simply not carried.
