It went down 4 full letter grades in just a couple of days. The source lists the huge DLC fiasco as a driving factor, but there's probably more to the sudden drop than meets the eye.

PRE-EMPTIVE WARNING: Let's not turn this into a Capcom-bashing thread. The instant it does, the mods will be whistled for, and it won't be pretty.

I'll assume that the stink over the Resident Evil 3D: The Mercenaries save file from last year may have played a small part in it...and, uh...I'm sure there are other things, but I can't think of anything else right now.

I hope you get tiny bits of eggshell in all your omelettes for the rest of your life!

I have my doubts that this will change Capcom's behavior/business at all.

Probably the thing about unlockable characters in Capcom vs. Tekken already being on the disc, with plans to sell them as DLC later.

Fortunately, Capcom already has a plan to appease their fans:

I doubt that - that decision was quite sound of them, unlike some actual issues they've been having.

Nice o-o Capcom has been rather money grubbing lately.

I mean seriously, ending game with cliffhanger and putting out real ending on dlc? tongue

Capcom has been angering its' fans a lot lately. Obsession with somewhat unfair DLC, shafting Mega Man, the Devil May Cry reboot, appealing very strongly to "The west"...

-Shrug- People get angry, they complain on the internet I guess.

[up][up] Except that's not just an ending, its full four episode part, it's not a DLC ending like Mass Effect 3's will be.

But at least the endign of Mass Effect 3 is an actual ending. Granted I think it's a fairly terrible ending, but still an ending. And at least the DLC ending won't actually be called the fucking true ending.

Remember! Hyperbole is an exaggeration made for comedic effect, and shouldn't be taken literally!

Yeah, I saw Asura's Wrath's ending, its "You thought this was true 100% completion end? WROOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOONG." ME 3's ending was just so bad that it made Bioware release free expansion tongue

^Asura's Wrath tongue Its ending is basically this: You beat True Final Boss "Is this truly over?" "Lol nope,*Demonic Possession*" You bastard" The End. Little later "True ending DLC with for new episodes!"

From what I understand, Mass Effect 3's DLC is just an epilogue, anyway.

I certainly hope the Xbox 360 pair play fiasco had something to do with this. At the very least, Capcom participated in very misleading advertising.

appealing very strongly to "The west"...
Not surprising. Most of their franchises (With the exception of Monster Hunter) are more popular in North America and Europe, with Street Fighter having over 90% of its playerbase in those two areas.

Unfortunately, they haven't managed to westernize where it matters, especially in consumer relationships and information given; they still follow the very Japanese model of "tell them as little as possible about our games so that they can't complain" model, which doesn't work when your consumers are smart enough to hack the disc.

Shady DLC practices, attitudes developers and video game "journalists" are having toward their customers (The word "Entitled" is becoming my Berserk Button ), Everything going on with EA, etc.

The only good thing Capcom's done in recent memory is Resident Evil: Revelations, IMO.

[up][up] Opinions are different, so what might be Shady DLC practices and other forms of Dissatisfaction to one person might be okay with another person.

[up] I don't mind most of their games, and think they play well and actually are good (Which can't be said for Activision most of the time). Its just that most of the behind the scenes stuff pisses a few people off.
