This actually came to me in a dream last night so I don't know if it is a good idea and can't remember if it has been suggested, but: a ship or boat. Could serve as an interest icon for those who enjoy ships/boating/nautical pursuits or can be used by rabid shippers (with the characters' names in caption/alt text).

My flag colour is also checked directly from wikipedia and I think the colour of dots themselves has more effect than the background. When resizing, they ended up as hushed yellow just like Rodney's, I lightened them up. Though their real colour is more orange than that.. gimme a sec...
