We need an Asiansploitation film:

We've got a Jewsploitation film (The Hebrew Hammer) and a Mexploitation film (Machete). Now all we need is a Blaxploitation Parody about Asian-Americans. (Well... except maybe one about arabs/muslims, but that might be a little too politically risque. Oh, and maybe one about homosexuals?) I don't mean an exploitation film from Asia, of which there are gazillions. I mean... well, exactly what I said. Like a Blaxploitation film except with a baddass Asian dude fighting against discrimination. The jokes would be about tropes like All Asians Are Alike, All Asians Know Martial Arts, Education Mama, Me Love You Long Time; that kinda thing.

For what it's worth, a low-budget film called "Chink" might be coming out soon about this Asian guy who idolizes Ted Bundy and goes on a murder spree due to getting teased as a child. Look it up.

I think you're thinking of low budget martial arts films. Especially ones made in the 70's that aren't the big names.

And even some of the more famous martial arts films can arguably be considered exploitation films.

Hi.
I think gugzt means an Asiansploitation Parody, not an actual played straight low-budget 70's martial-arts film.

I'm thinking Kung Fu Hustle is probably what they're looking for.

What are we talking about? Do we talk about films making fun with the asian idiosyncrasy or asian-american one?

I thought Kung Fu Hustle was about chinamen from China. But I cant remember very well.

Kung Fu Hustle is a Hong Kong film set in Shanghai, aimed mostly at Hong Kong audience. I can't really consider any Hong Kong or Chinese or Asian films as Asianploitation. The thing with blaxploitation is, that it emerged in a very specific time in American film history and I'm not sure could something like that be repeated with some other ethnic minority. I for one have never heard about jewsploitation, before this thread.

He means the basic Blaxplotation film only with all the black people replaced by some other ethnicity and played for laughs. Think the Juggernaut Bitch only with original footage, not just voice overs.

It would be like some poor but hard working Korean American man working in LA whose son gets addicted to crack so he goes decides to kill all drug dealers in revenge, including pharmacists, psychiatrists the LAPD and a bunch of other people who may or may not have be one of the causes of his grief. He would also have to be nigh invincible, have Bottomless Magazines, be able to drive a car though a brick wall without it getting a scratch and speak in an exaggerated stereotypical Compton accent. The villains would all have to be disproportionately Korean with the occasional Token White sprinkled amongst them and they'd all have Compton accents too.

Edit:The hero would have some Malcolm Xerox type allies to help him in a few scenes too.

Just awesome like that
Well, there are Bruce Lee Clones, specifically the ones who exploited his image after his death. Would those count?

Or what about that one movie with Jet Li and Jackie Chan in it that I can never remember the name of?

It's kind of worth noting that Blaxploitation doesn't mean "films that exploit the image of black people" (though they do), it means "Exploitation Films which feature a 'black' setting."

An Asiansploitation film wouldn't be based around stereotyping Asians (though it undoubtedly would), it would be based around B-movie sensationalist actiony brutality with an "Asian-y" setting (much like how Blaxploitation movies are B-movie sensationalist actiony brutality with an "African-American-y" setting).

That's why I brought up martial arts movies.

You all are missing the point. Gugzt does not want an exploitation film with an "Asiany setting". He wants a Blaxploitation Parody starring Asian actors. The Hebrew Hammer was not an exploitation film with a Jewy setting. It was a Blaxploitation Parody starring Jewish actors.

I think Known Unknown itīs right in the definition but I dont see the most Kung Fu films like Explotaition Films. I cant remember any chinese film that fits in the definition. Well, if we consider a erotic film like a Explotaition Films I can remember one or two. But there is a lot of Korean and Japaneses ones that fit very well. And others asian countries.

But I still cant remember one protagonized by asian-americans, what (I think) is called by the OP.

Is it The Forbidden Kingdom that you're thinking of? If so, I don't think it counts as exploitation... I've never heard of an Exploitation Film with a PG rating.

If that's really what the OP is looking for, I'm gonna go ahead and recommend Rumble in the Bronx. It's Jackie Chan kicking the asses of various non-Asian gangsters. It's R-rated, but from what I remember not all that bloody (maybe even not still not bloody enough to be considered exploitation).

Banned, selectively
My understanding of Blaxploitation is something of a cynical attempt to make cheap movies to appeal to a black audience in the 1970s by showing the hero fucking people up (both literally and non-literall) while generally putting to the man.

I'm not sure of what gripes the Chinese-American community has with "the system" but I don't think an Asiansploitation movie would have any substantial resemblance to Blaxploitation. Social circumstances are different, cultural sensibilities are different as are aesthetic sensibilities.

So it depends on what you mean. Maybe:

With or without a white guy in the lead Appealing to a general audience but having lots of asian stuff in it In an American setting, whether modern or probably not.

So you get Big Trouble in Little China, and Balls of Fury. Or maybe The Big Brawl, one of Jackie Chan's earlier flicks.
Whether you think you can, or you think you can't, you are probably right.
The system doesn't know you right now, so no post button for you.
You need to Get Known to get one of those.
