Not sure if this is a one time thing, or not, but Toonami has been added to the Adult Swim for it's Saturday Night Anime Black.

1 Year later and Toonami is going strong. To better keep from getting lost in the clutter, users have started to post in an IRC during the airings. If you'd like to join in just follow the very simple instructions:

OTOH, didn't they have to renew the rights for at least Tenchi Muyo! and maybe Gundam Wing for this? I think it's a pointlessly expensive stunt to renew the licenses only to show the series a single day.

I'm still dreading they'll cut to The Room.

That they're dropping a lot of money just for a one time. Making fart noises are definitely a lot cheaper than buying the rights to several shows only to show them once.

Even though this is obviously an April Fools day thing, might as well watch it to show there's still interest in this shit.

Maybe the return of the block itself is a joke, but the re-acquired series still can be fit into [adult swim] otherwise?

CN has absolutely NOTHING to lose by bringing back old Toonami back.

They'd get so much of our demographic back.

I'm not getting my hopes up for a revival, but this is the best and the most elaborate April Fools Joke ever conceived.

Maybe their rights never expired or something. If you want to keep up hope, I suggest getting as many people to watch it.

Honestly, I'd love to see new shows brought onto a new Toonami. Like say Tiger & Bunny.

This is probably an April Fools bit - "haha, you thought you were getting your old lineup, but instead you're getting something awesome!"

But, I see no reason why if this succeeds this wouldn't keep going on. Especially if the gag is "we're changing the lineup from now on" and not "we're changing the lineup for today."

The Mass Effect 3 review - brand new content - makes me think if they decide they could get ratings off of it - which they will - they'll keep at it.
