For the ratio of entries on the Creator/ namespace to "creator" type pages, we have 669/4239. We really need to get pushing more on this one.

Also, I don't know which all other namespace migration projects have been established - but just in case:

  • UsefulNotes/ namespace pages to "useful notes" type pages = 581/1431
  • JustForFun/ namespace pages to "just for fun" type pages = 37/1314 (There is also the AATAFOVS/ namespace, of which all pages should be marked as "just for fun" - which would bring the ratio up to 108/1314. I think many [but not all] DarthWiki/ and SugarWiki/ pages also apply.)
  • Administrivia/ namespace pages to "administrivia" type pages - 48/409

Seeking for Light
That's 74.0% on the works, 15.8% on the creators, 40.6% on Useful Notes, 11.7% on Administrivia, and 65.7% overall.

I ignored Just for Fun in these counts because that seems like a really messy one.

(And also, in the works list, VideoGame/ and Film/ are out of order now.)

There may be a few other namespaces for "just for fun" pages that I missed. I'll check through the namespaces, later on. I know not all pages on the DarthWiki/ and SugarWiki/ namespaces are "just for fun". It's also where we put the audience reaction pages that attract gushing or complaining, and DarthWiki/ is also where people place unpublished works.

Going down the page types:

  • subpage = By definition of "subpage", none of them should be on Main/. Thus, there is no need of a namespace migration for this one.
  • work = That's what the bulk of this thread is focusing on. One day, we hope we can call this project "finished".
  • tropes = These are the ones that stay on main. They also include trivia, YMMV, and audience reactions. Well, those of the later two that aren't banished to Darth Wiki or Sugar Wiki.
  • contributors = All of these go on Tropers/ - and, a few years ago, there was an automated move to move all contributor pages from Main/ to Tropers/. This wasn't without a hitch, since we're still removing ghost wicks from the former "contributor" pages on Main/ - but that's got nothing to do with this project. No namespace migration project needed for this one.
  • examples = No "examples" pages should ever have been created on Main/. The two major namespaces for these pages are Characters/ and Recap/. Also, work pages that acquired a long list of tropes have also been split off onto separate pages - which also get marked as "examples". This one doesn't need a namespace migration project.
  • creator = A few months ago, we started moving all the "creator" pages to the Creator/ namespace - and no other namespaces should include "creator" pages. Not even Music/, Wrestling/, or LetsPlay/.
  • index = I don't foresee there ever being a need to move all "index" pages off of main. Indexes that are on other namespaces generally cover pages that are on the same namespace. So probably no namespace migration project for this one.
  • useful notes = From what I understand, there is a move to have all "useful notes" pages on the UsefulNotes/ namespaces - similar to "creator" pages. So they probably can be included.
  • just for fun = As we just explained, this looks to be a fairly complex project. I would hazard a guess, though, that we do all "just for fun" pages to be moved off of the Main/ namespace.
  • disambiguation = I don't foresee there being a namespace migration project for this one.
  • administrivia = The Administrivia/ namespace is fairly new, and I would guess that we do want all administrivia pages to be on the Administrivia/ namespace.
  • not set = Well, for obvious reasons, there'll never be a namespace migration project for these type pages.
  • probationary = Don't know what this is - but, since there's so few of them, we probably don't need a namespace migration project for these type pages.

Just thought I'd mention that while cleaning up indexed redirects (a separate special effort), I've been turning up all sorts of pages that are incorrectly marked as redirects. Many of these are work pages, so this will probably have a noticeable effect on the next set of stats.

TV Tropes' very wikibot
If we continue to move pages at this speed, this work will take years, I have to say.

That's why I wrote a new script for moving a bulk of pages. Today I tested it on the Screen Writers index, and it looks good. This should enable us to move at least 100 pages per day. More in the wick migration thread.

Sorry I didn't write this any earlier.
Oh, that is such good news to hear! Thank you so very much! :)

Not to rain on anyone's parade, but namespaced redirects means we're going to have to go a ways past 100% before we can claim to be done. Still, we are reaching the point where I'm honestly surprised when I find a work that isn't namespaced, so we're definitely getting there.
"Existential Despair" is an oxymoron.
There are probably much more namespaced works than there are namespaced redirects, though. So we're definitely more than 37.55% done. I'm pretty certain we're passed the halfway mark, though.

Can someone please explain to me what the whole point of the namespace is? I understand if it's a work that's been adapted into several other mediums, but why do we need namespaces for every work out there? It doesn't make sense to me.

Sweeto!
About namespaced redirects, note that they should be avoided as they are of little worth. Only a full work should have a namespace. They're justified only if there was a mistake in the namespace and it has existed long enough to gather wicks before being moved. Whenever I find such a redirect, I de-wick it, and if there's less than 10 inbounds, it go in the cutlist. The deletion is usually then accepted without trouble. This should help having the number of occurence of a namespace corresponding more to actual works.
