If you could write a fanfic as a sequel to any story (that either doesn't already have one, or doesn't have any further installments planned) what story would you choose, and what direction would you take it in?

Anything is fair game. Stories with No Ending (The Sopranos, anyone?) or frustratingly ambiguous endings (Inception, anyone?) are ripe fodder, but any one of your favorite stories could potentially work, if you're interested in taking the story further.

I know this is one's broad, but it's a popular fanfic category for a reason—you can take a story in any direction you want.

You mean a Continuation Fic? Yeah, I'm sure some people have thought of that.

Including me. I actually have thoughts of a Continuation Fic for Kamen Rider Double where they investigate a case involving something that was briefly mentioned late in the show's run. SPOILER

The Bittersweet Ending of Gao Gai Gar FINAL pisses me off. I mean, yeah, it was preceded by so much awesome that even Kamina would be slack-jawed, but c'mon Sunrise, is that really how you treat your true Heroes? Sad thing is, coming up with ideas for a Gao Gai Gar fic is actually really hard for me, because the odds of me being able to live up to the canon are ABSOLUTELY... ZERO!!!!!!

Mass Effect 3, natch.

Mostly because I want to see if I can actually use one of the endings to a happier scenario.

FYI, I actually liked the endings, so please don't say its a Fix Fic.

I've kinda had this idea for a continuation of Ocarina of Time for a while.

Someone actually did that, although it seems to be dormant after only two chapters. Here it is.

I've actually considered writing a sequel to Disney's Snow White And The Seven Dwarfs that would draw on another classic Grimm tale: "Snow White and Rose Red." I know it's not the same Snow White in the original tales, but I see no reason why it couldn't be in the Disney version. Obviously, in this one they wouldn't be sisters. Instead, Rose Red would be an active, outdoorsy princess from a neighboring kingdom whom Snow meets one day while traveling through the woods to visit her old friends the Dwarfs. Despite their differences, they get along well, because they complement each other—Rose teaches Snow some woodcraft, and Snow teaches Rose how to dance and about court etiquette—which she'll need to know because she's engaged and waiting for her fiance to return from a journey so they can hold the wedding.

Of course, unbeknownst to either of them, the fiance is late coming home because he ran afoul of a wicked Dwarf (a distant cousin of Snow's friends, perhaps?) while traveling and has been transformed into a bear...

My biggest concern at this point is that it would seem to be riffing too much on Brave, what with a tomboyish redheaded princess and a bear transformation. I'll have to wait and see Brave before I can figure out how to avoid too many similarities. I might even change the animal—a wolf instead of a bear, perhaps? I just think it would be a neat twist on the usual—a Disney Princess sequel that actually focuses on developing one of the classic Princesses into a stronger character while still drawing on the body of traditional fairytales.

Any thoughts?

Stuff what I do.

I've been toying with a continuation to Team 8 for ages, but my own unfinished fics are nagging at me to get 'em done. It's been stalled for so long, and it was such a formative experience for me that I have to see it continue, even if it's me advancing the story.

Reality is that which, when you stop believing in it, doesn't go away.

Let's see, I've written one for Avatar The Last Airbender (before The Legend of Korra was known/thought of), and one for one of the bad ends of Katawa Shoujo.

Otherwise, I tend to want to write alternate endings or other twists mid-story. If alternate endings count (where only something near the end is different) also counts, I'd say Katanagatari. A continuation of the Zero No Tsukaima anime is another I've considered, but probably won't write.
