Star Wars meets The (slightly distant) Future: The Civil War :

Aeron skittered to a stop as his ally decided to make a stand. He flinched slightly as he saw the knives fly towards him and Allara, but thankfully the Grey Jedi had the situation under control. Before he could commit to any course of action, Allara decided to telepathically communicate with him. It seemed that he had two choices - fight alongside Allara, or get to the hangar and try to find a ship.

The Padawan activated his lightsaber and settled into a classic Soresu stance. The brilliant blue blade glowed intensely, contrasting sharply with the weapon wielded by their opponent. However, for a minute the young Jedi did nothing, paralysed with indecision. He didn't want to leave the Jedi Knight to what was possibly death unless there was no other choice, but at the same time he knew that taking on a Sith Lord was suicide for someone as unskilled as he, even with back up.

Aeron lowered his blade and turned on his heels. "I'm going to go to the hangar - be careful!"

With that, he sprinted down the hallway, not bothering to wait for an answer. Despite his efforts, his anxiety was clear for all to see, be it in the Force or on his face. He could only pray that his comrade could hold out long enough to beat a retreat, or his efforts would be in vain.

Miles had found fighting the guards almost trivial - people who could not feel the call of the Force were usually rather easy prey. He observed the arrival of the pair of Jedi with almost a sense of relief: finally he would get a chance to demonstrate his mettle.

"Two Jedi for little old me? I'm flattered, " Miles said. He had just finished talking when one of them - he guessed she was the junior member of the pair, judging by her reaction - lunged at him. In an almost contemptuous fashion he raised a hand to try to shunt Janine away with the Force, though he kept his shimmering red bladed lightsaber ready to deflect the oncoming attack in case this failed. "I'll try not to hurt you too much, though if you get in the way there might be a... accident. Wouldn't that be a shame?"

Hal raised his lightsaber to block the Sith's lightning strike. Seconds after being struck, he redirected the lightning at a random wall, leaving a small crater in it. Regaining his composure, Hal again raised his lightsaber in a defensive position, ready for his enemy's next strike.

"That's some power you believe in, " Hal coughed out. "But at what cost? What do you call yourselves, you who would create an Empire out of a Republic?" Hal was attempting to stall his opponent to gain time for either backup or create an opportunity to strike.
Darth Talon unfolded his tail below him and fanned it forward, forcing him to backflip and barely dodge the lightning sent at him by the Jedi Knight. Clearly this woman wasn't someone to underestimate, as he felt dark emotion poured into the bolt that almost singed him.

Landing on his feet, his lightsaber still activated, Darth Talon looked up at the Jedi woman and spotted her comrade fleeing into the hangar bay. Not wanting to fail his masters, Smith spoke into his communicator.

"Men, move the cannons and aim at the hangar bay. Fire on any exiting ships!"

Looking back at the Jedi, he put on a smirk as he asked, "Now, where did you learn to do that? As I recall, Jedi shouldn't put so much emotion into something so lethal. Weren't you informed of this little party of ours?"

Janine was stopped right in midair by the Sith's Force attack, which to the charging ggirl felt like crashing straight into a rock wall...

Needless to say the young Padawan fell without much dignity to the floor on her back, causing herself to get a few bruises and more likely than not a good backache tomorrow...

Still, Janine was strong and training her body to become a Guardian since a young age. She quickly rolled on the floor, back on her feet on a low stance by the time Atelia reached her side.

"The cost is unimportant to those who reach the top. And as for who we are... we are simply the Sith" said Jayson, right before he gathered the force for two maneuvers... the first on his body to accelerate him and the second to use his levitation to throw around six little spheres at the room they just left, the one with the communications and defense consoles of the Jedi temple.

Those six spheres were grenades primed to explode in around ten seconds. More than enough time for the Jedi to save the console if he did not choose to pursue Jayson. Or at least, that's Jayson's plan. He just knows that with the operation ruined before it could even start by this most inopportune event... well he had to get out of the temple as soon as possible.

"That is for me to know and for you to never find out" said the Grey Jedi, holding her saber with both hands as she moved to get some more distance between her and Darth Talon. She merely acknowledged the Padawan's decision with a nod of her head. Hearing his command through the communicator, she used her telepathy once again on the Padawan, only being able to warn him of some danger by the hangar's exit.

"Though I guess it is obvious that if I knew of this party I would have made myself scarce a long time ago. This vulgar affair is hardly to my taste" Allara said as she used the Force on nearby pieces of debris from Talon's initial rush... levitating them to float towards her, ready to be used as projectiles.

Aeron noted the latest telepathic communique with some concern. So there was some danger at the hangar's exit... but what? What trap had the Sith laid for him and his comrade. He would have attempted to respond in order to get some clarification, but he knew nothing about telepathy, and in any case Allara probably couldn't afford to be distracted by his clumsy attempts at it.

So he kept running, hoping that he could handle whatever the Force - and fate - threw at him next.

"Ah, touchy, I see, " commented Miles, gingerly stepping off of the guard's corpse and on to the floor as though it was the only safe part of the entire hallway. "I remember when I used to be a Padawan - at this very temple, even. Good times, good times... but you're not here to listen to me ramble on."

"I'm Darth Praxis." Miles flicked his lightsaber in front of him in the traditional Makashi manner. The weapon droned hypnotically. "Now, I need to be on my way, as I'm sure you do too. So, let's make this quick, shall we?" His voice had acquired a distinctly malevolent edge as he finished speaking, and Janine and Atelia might have seen blue-white bolts of energy crackling across his left hand and jumping occasionally from finger to finger. He waited for the pair to make their next move, apparently content to observe their reactions.

Despite his outwardly controlled appearance, Antares could not wait for the pair to make a foolish attack blinded by rage, at which point he would kill them as easily as scattering flowers on the wind. It would be a shame to finish them so quickly, but he could always find more Jedi to hunt down.

"I am the Omega, the end of all things."
"And I'm Atelia Alucard, nice to meet you!" Atelia said with a controlled anger "You clearly don't know who I am. I can clearly see that you are a skilled makashi user, and that you have command over some wierd powers, but that won't stop me from beating you." Then Atelia lashed out with her free arm and from her sleeve a short lightsaber flew towards Mlies, blade first, turning itself on mid-flight

Darth Talon kept his lightsaber activated and his wits about him as debris from earlier floated towards the younger Jedi. Knowing that he was likely to win a lightsaber duel against her than in a battle with the Force, the Sith waited for his opponent to make the first move.

"From what you just shot at me, this affair is catered to your tastes." the Sith spat back at her.
Hal wanted to pursue Jayson badly, but he had to make sure their was some way for the Jedi to coordinate themselves against the Sith, as his opponent stated they were.

Rushing to the doorway of the communications room, he quickly used the Force to pull the grenades out of the room and letting them explode in the hallway.

Until next time, Sith, Hal thought as he turned his focus from the escapee to the larger conflict in the Temple.

The push in mid air was like a bucket of cold water to the young Padawan. While she remained upset she directed those feelings inwards as she grit her teeth and tried to regain her concentration in the fight. Seeing her Master lead the fight towards the man she moved once again, running to circle the man and attack from his back.

"I enjoy the art, but I find myself finding its crowd disgusting. Add that to the fact that I rather live to see the end of this day and many more to come" says Allara as she makes her move, levitating a pair of stones in front of her from the debris she levitated earlier. She then used her hand to Force Push them with all her strength towards the man in front of her... all the while praying for the Padawan to make it safely into a ship.

Jayson ran for his life through the Jedi Temple and towards the nearest exit available, be it a window or anything really. He was dressed with infiltration in mind, so no Jedi should attack him on sight but the annoying man that found him in the com room would surely take it upon him to reveal his bluff promptly. Thus he had not time to lose. Once he made it out he could either go to the remaining Sith forces, or if they were too few in number by them, simply go among the crowds and find his own way off the planet.

If I'm sure of something it's that I'm not sure of anything.

Typical, Darth Talon thought as a pair of stones flew at him. Moving forward, he used his long-handle lightsaber to cut each one in two before launching his own assault. Taking two of the pieces, he flung them straight at the Jedi. The other pieces moved overhead, one to hit the Jedi from above, and another to fly past her before slamming into her from behind.

Meanwhile, the Martian Temple was becoming overwhelmed by the forces of the Sith. It would only be a matter of time before the Jedis' options were escape, or a warrior's death...
Hal began coordinating the Jedi, directing them as to where they should mobilize to best defend themselves. While the battle raged on below and around him, Hal spotted a certain Sith running down the halls, presumably to escape the Temple and flee to wherever they had come from.

Found you, he thought. The internal defense system was still down from whatever had disabled the anti-air defenses, so Hal dashed out of the room and through the Venusian Temple. Knowing the place like the back of his hand, Hal was able to take shortcuts until he found himself standing in front of the exit he had deduced the Sith would take. He activated his lightsaber and began walking forward in a defensive stance to increase the distance between himself and the door, so that his enemy would be farther from escape when they met again.

Allara jumped back to avoid the first stone... but she wasn't quick enough to avoid the second one which crashed painfully against her back, driving the Jedi coughing to her knees.

Jayson found the annoying Jedi from before... once again, closing his path "Why, we see each other again. Is this fate or did you miss me already?"

Perfect. Darth Talon thought. Throwing another pair of knives at the Jedi on her knees, he then leapt and spun forward, his lightsaber moving horizontally to decapitate the Jedi before him.
"I'd say it was fate, " Hal spoke before charging at him again, his saberstaff blades swung in a flurry of attacks.

Frowning, Miles whipped his lightsaber forward to deflect the thrown weapon and whirled around to face Janine, parrying her own strike just in time. Retreating several steps to give himself more room, he smiled. "Impressive. And I thought you were going to roll over and die, just like all of the other miserable failures in this place."

Seeing an opportunity to strike, he lashed out with his free hand, a thick fan of lightning snaking and roaring its' way toward Atelia. However, he only made use of the destructive energies of the Force briefly, ever wary of the fact that he was outnumbered.

By this point Aeron had made it to the hangar entrance. Fretfully he started evaluating the ships available to him, hoping that at least one of them would be operable... and that the Grey Jedi would be close behind him.

On the floor on her knees, the Grey Jedi looked down at the floor as she felt how her opponent was about to attack her. Using the Force she slammed her hands against the floor, lifting a big seven by seven square tile from it to shield herself from the knives before flinging it at the attacking Sith.

After that she got to one knee and then turned and ran towards the hangar, not looking back to check if she hit her enemy or not.

Jayson smirked as he activated his saber, running at him and engaging him in lightsaber combat. His own thrusting style of a fencer clashing with the other man's flowing saberstaff style.

To say the truth, Jayson didn't knew how good of a chance he had in a fight with the other man... but given how much he kept getting in his way, Jayson was willing to take his chances to cut him in half.

"The only thing that will fail here is your foolish attack!" yells Janine as she attacks once again spinning her twin sabers as she strikes diagonally four times in quick succession at her enemy.

Darth Talon's lightsaber cut the slab, but this caused him to crash into the slab pieces, which made him roll onto the floor. After getting his head knocked against some rocks, Smith got up and shook his head to focus himself, holding his deactivated saber in his hand.

Blinking some more, the Sith saw the female Jedi fleeing into the hangar. Readying his mechanical legs, Smith ran after her. What the Sith didn't perceive was that pieces of rock were jammed into parts of his legs, and that his legs would soon be unable to move in a minute.

When Smith fell, this would give the Jedi enough time to make their escape, provided that they survive the artillery Smith had ordered to be aimed at the bay doors.

Hal was having an absolutely wonderful time trying to fight against the Sith's quick, fencing-like style. Gritting his teeth, Hal attempted to press his advantage. So focused was he in his fight, that his senses didn't foresee the enemy fire aimed at their section of the Jedi Temple, knocking him against a wall. Hal would be out long enough for Jayson to escape.

Meanwhile, after twenty minutes of attack, the Sith and their troopers would receive in their minds a multitude of whispers, telling the remaining Imperial forces to retreat to Mars, and attack with full force.

Sith, find a way off your planets and head to Mars. Jedi, you're going to experience either a sudden inflow of enemy fire, or the non-Force Sensitive troops rallying to attack you while the Sith escape. Jedi on Mars, get the hell out of there. You have a message to deliver.

Allara ran with all the strength the Force would grant her, away from battle and towards the presence of Miles "Quick! We need to get out of here. Please, tell me you can fly one of these things"

Jayson didn't stick around to see if he could finish the bothersome Jedi. He had a feeling he would regret that in the future... but stronger still was the feeling that if he didn't take the chance to escape now he would not have a future to regret that in the first place. Things were getting hot in the planet... the Sith forces would not be able to resist the Jedi counterattack with the few loses they managed to inflict.

Not to mention... the whispers in his head telling him exactly what he had already figured out. Complete retreat.

Jayson mingled in the crowds and instead of risking going to the Sith battleships, he moved to the private hangar where his small freighter awaited him.

"I don't know, " replied Aeron with a slight undercurrent of anxiety, still trying to figure out which ship if any would be their ticket out of there. "Listen, I think we should just pick one and get going... hopefully the Force will let us fly one of the ships."

With that he charged up the landing ramp of one of the vessels (which thankfully happened to be open), hoping to power everything up before any more Sith could arrive to ruin their day.

Allara nodded her head and followed after the Padawan, trusting his judgment and the Force as she stepped into the flying machine. She really didn't like Space Travel... or Air Travel... or any kind of travel that involved one of these things, but these were incredibly desperate times.

The Grey Jedi walked to the nearest seat on the ship and then secured herself on it... turning to the Force for a way out. The handling of the ship was something way beyond her control after all.

Thankfully for the pair of Jedi fleeing Mars, the starship they had entered had a destination-seeking function and an autopilot function. All they had to do was enter the location they wished to go to, and the ship would take them there.
Meanwhile on Earth and Venus, the Sith were fleeing the Temples, their ruse complete, as their troops and droids rushed by the numbers at the Jedi and the guards of the Temples. The Sith would get away from the planet and return to Mars to finish their assault there, while the Jedi of Venus and Earth would be too distracted to stop it.

Aeron settled back in his seat, releasing a shaky sigh. It was clear the young padawan was under stress, a thin sheen of sweat dotting his brow. Turning to his companion, he swallowed hard before asking the inevitable question. "Where do we go now? The other temples might be compromised, but I have no idea where we could head instead..."

He massaged his temples gently. "I never imagined that this would happen..."

Not quite prepared for the ferocity of the assault, Miles is forced backward, his lightsaber spitting defiance as he deftly blocks the blows. However, it is all too clear that the man was almost hit by the young Jedi's strikes. Hearing the sounds of his allies pouring into the temple, Antares smirked. "It's over. I suggest you run."

Calling upon the energies of the Force, Antares amplified his physical abilities. Rather than trying to attack his opponents - surely his fellows would deal with them - the Sith leapt clean over the Jedi and ran deeper into the complex.

After a few seconds of silence, the older Jedi opened her eyes and said "Venus... we go to Venus. This darkness is strong, but the light of Venus has not faded yet. Of this I am sure"

"Ah! Come back!" Janine yelled at Miles as he saw him escape... however she couldn't concentrate on him. Not with the waves of enemies coming to her and her Master. The Padawan let out a soft cry of frustration before she turned to meet the tide, twin sabers ready to defend her home.
