I think real people examples in this case are a bad idea.
Actually, there's already a subpage labeled other. Robots and dolls can probably go there, and we can cut the real life section safely, since it's sort of redundant if we don't want real people examples.
"If you aren't him, then you apparently got your brain from the same discount retailer, so..." - FighteerOppose cutting this. No one has so far offered a good reason for No Real Life Examples Please.
"For a successful technology, reality must take precedence over public relations, for Nature cannot be fooled." - Richard FeynmanCalling real people Uncanny Valley = bad idea.
"If you aren't him, then you apparently got your brain from the same discount retailer, so..." - FighteerHave there been Edit Wars, flaming, complaining or the like?
"For a successful technology, reality must take precedence over public relations, for Nature cannot be fooled." - Richard FeynmanMost of the examples are badly written into "OMG LOOK AT THIS" and many, many examples fall into Weblinks Are Not Examples.
"If you aren't him, then you apparently got your brain from the same discount retailer, so..." - FighteerSaying that real people are in the Uncanny Valley strikes me as a bad idea. As bad as calling a real person a Gonk. It's insulting to the person and not really useful to understanding the trope.
EDIT: Oh, look. Real life examples on Gonk. Why am I not surprised by this?

Yeah...I'm kind of not happy there either.
"If you aren't him, then you apparently got your brain from the same discount retailer, so..." - FighteerI think that Uncanny Valley being purely accidental makes it more tolerable than Gonk.
Also, if we scrap this page, let's make it a redirect to UncannyValley.Other for the 112 inbounds at least.
"For a successful technology, reality must take precedence over public relations, for Nature cannot be fooled." - Richard FeynmanYeah, that just strikes me as rather mean spirited.
Reality is that, which when you stop believing in it, doesn't go away. -Philip K. DickNo problem with a redirect, as long as I don't have to see actual people described in such mean-spirited detail.
"If you aren't him, then you apparently got your brain from the same discount retailer, so..." - FighteerI removed those examples I thought were disrespectful towards the individuals in the examples. I doubt any of them would appreciate being likened to a zombie (which pretty much is the definition of the bottom of the Uncanny Valley).
The Internet misuses, abuses, and overuses everything.Redirecting to Uncanny Valley.Other does sound like a good idea.
EDIT: Gee, it's an unorganized mass with lots of non-examples. Not as bad as this one was, though.

Actually a girl. This is in contrast with most tropes, which describe events that occur within a fictional narrative but which could also apply to Real Life. Here, the trope sometimes occur within narratives, but we label those examples as "in-universe."
So are we okay with moving non-people examples and redirecting to UncannyValley.Other?

"If you aren't him, then you apparently got your brain from the same discount retailer, so..." - FighteerThe only way I see having a RL example is if they follow the original meaning of term a robot or doll that is made to look as close to human as they can but it just looks wrong.
Sankaku stuff just toss them up on imageshack.

Sparkling and glittering! Jan-Ken-Pon!What would the implication of a redirect be? Everything that's not moved will be cut?
I think just about everything here can be moved to Other, with some to Advertising. Also, the former could probably do a little better with folders.

The Internet misuses, abuses, and overuses everything.Well, the only thing we wouldn't move are examples of real people. Everything else would be properly moved.
"If you aren't him, then you apparently got your brain from the same discount retailer, so..." - FighteerSo, is everyone alright with moving all examples other than real people to the "other" page and redirect the real life page there?
"If you aren't him, then you apparently got your brain from the same discount retailer, so..." - FighteerMoved all examples except for people to UncannyValley.Other.
Anything else to do before we lock?
"If you aren't him, then you apparently got your brain from the same discount retailer, so..." - FighteerGuess not. Lock time.
"If you aren't him, then you apparently got your brain from the same discount retailer, so..." - Fighteer
Yes, the links have to go. And so does the natter.
But I think the examples themselves are salvageable. Except those about real people - those can probably go. They should probably not be all grouped under Real Life, though. Just like Toys gets a heading, we can probably have a Dolls and Robots heading. Make it more clear that they're "real" examples and are subject to the same rules as other examples.
