The Order's auditorium hadn't been used in years, and the dust and cobwebs showed it. Several dozen people were seated in the first few rows of benches, as the Swordmaster - an old man - spoke. It had been like this for nearly an hour, him talking about the rare honor they were being given, as well as his comments on seemingly random aspects of the Order. Despite most of the audience having been alone and bedridden for the last week after having a Heart of the Order *
grafted to their heart, as well as the somewhat abrasive personality the Swordmaster had, several people still managed to look content.
He kept on talking, "...speaking of which, try not to eat any dairy products for two or three more days, and do not
touch a watermelon for a week. Now then, all that's left is your assignments. Normally, only one person joins, so they would go on a circuit of all the forts and outposts, but in this case, we're just assigning a few of you to each one and hoping for the best. Now, let's see..." He reached for a paper on a nearby table, and started reading. "Alright, Zadros and Maraph, the two of you go meet up with Galaser in her laboratory, you'll be going to Dragon's Cove. Frinarv, Manard, Adner, and Nerwende, go to the eastern quad, you're assigned the Stone King's Throne..." he continued reading, with those he named getting up and leaving, until finally, there was only a small group of men, women, and, oddly enough, a chain golem and armored knight, left. "So now, you..." his eyes darted from person to person, frowning as he inspected their faces and let out a sigh "... the rest of you are tasked with resupplying Engate's Keep. Just wait here, Bahtan should be here soon." Without another word, he walked out the door, obviously more interested in going back to inspecting the armory than in talking to the new recruits.
