I'm not sure how this image illustrates the trope. Sure, it's a woman in fur, and it has a caption stating it's fake fur; but the trope isn't just "fur that is fake". The trope is "having the glamour of fur without any of the guilt", and the image doesn't show that. I think we need something involving character dialogue instead.
Special trousers. Very heroic.

Actually, what you quoted is the intention of the trope. The actual trope is any In-Universe reminder that the fur is fake, and that is what the picture caption (which was in the show proper) does.

[up] How exactly is that caption in-universe?

In that scene, you saw those words pop up as they bought stuff, similar to some commercials. That counts as In-Universe.

[up] But that's hardly clear from the image, unless you already know what work this is from.
Special trousers. Very heroic.

How does knowing what the work is from matter? Unless you mistook this for an image macro, but those tent to be more blatant.

The current image is spectacularly weak, but the example list is short, didn't see anything I'm familiar with that might make a good image. The article says Veronica wears fur and gives an "it's fake!" disclaimer, a lot, but dunno where to start looking.

I did see that Archie strip as well, but even the digest reprint was years ago, so I wouldn't know where to look either.

Okay, this might work. It's a preliminary one, so if someone can find a better one (like find a decent picture of that part of the box without glare), that would be nice.

Recommend rectangle instead of trapezoidal polygon, that the "zoom lines" lead to the smaller rectangle's corners instead of converging on one point, and that the detail is partially "off the page" so it doesn't look like part of what it's zooming in on. Something like:

[up] The suggestion's good; I'll hold off on commenting on rodney's suggestion until I see what it looks like.

Like the "overhang" but white > black, first one probably. Maybe try white lines with second arrangement (part of the large box won't be visible, that may be ok tho), but fine as-is.

Either of the last two are fine...lean toward the overhang version.

Yep. The new pic's up, potholed, and tagged; caption or no? I lean toward no caption, unless we move the quote to that position.

Pretty sure the disclaimer is about the "doll's world"; the trim wouldn't be made of real fur in any case, the question is what it's supposed to be.

[up]What disclaimer? The picture is focusing on the dress description, which is the relevant part of the trope.
