[up]Hell some of us enjoy some series entirely by pointing out flaws in it. Hate watching can be a blast with some shows.

And I will NEVER forgive the tentacle group scenes which was the worst thing other then Sugou and arguably Suguha.

You gotta start somewhere.

You have to remember that these are kids, not trained soldiers. Yes, Kirito knows he screwed up royally, which is why he went suicidal, but at the time, he thought he had the situation under control. Also, as noted on their character entry, the Black Cats of the Full Moon were all-around reckless, with or without Kirito. Had he not been there, they probably would have died shortly after he met them. If Kirito had revealed his level to them and they didn't chase him out of the guild, they probably would have insisted on joining the clearers (which was their goal anyway). Well, we saw what happened when the Sleeping Knights tried to guild-solo a floor boss, and they had the Black Cats of the Full Moon outclassed in every way: 7 members vs. 6, 3 years of full dive experience vs. 8 months, Yuuki and Asuna in charge vs. Kirito and Keita, and nothing to lose vs. a bunch of scared kids. Frankly, short of throwing them in prison, I don't see any way that the Black Cats of the Full Moon could have survived.

Oh, and Kikuoka's lying about his parents. He was in kindergarten during the Electric Soldier Porygon incident, which means he was born in 1991-1992. Or maybe this is just a case of Writers Cannot Do Math.

Anybody else think Argo's the one who wrote "The Black Swordsman?"

I saw that a few days ago out of curiosity. I don't think Yui's arc ruined SAO though, but that's because I though SAO was bad before then.

Honestly he has a point about Kirito's programming skills though it's probably just another case of the author not thinking things through.

He does, but like I said it doesn't affect my opinion on the series' quality beforehand.

Oh wow, that's actually not from Digibro. The name Mother's Basement doesn't present anymore credibility, but alas.

No but the two were on at least 2 different podcasts/streams at some points.

Digibro has since migrated to slamming The Asterisk Wars for an unnecessarily long time, and is currently on GATE.

ANYWAY...The Yui arc is just more of the same from Kirito and SAO in general at this point, so I'm not convinced it's the point the show became bad.

Her survival did not really change much either in terms of making SAO better or worse.

Yui's arc was added in as an afterthought, pretty much, since it was a sidestory interquel written after the first book. You know, back when Kawahara's writing was still not very good.

I'm willing to bet there's a lot he'd change if he could rewrite those books now lol.

[up]Seems like a Shonen version of All You Need Is Kill.

It ain't shonen.

That's a very grave mistake. It explicitly is intended to go after many of the archetypes that plague Trapped in Another World Light Novels like SAO.

Thanks. I'm kind of getting like.... semi-jerk vibes from kirito, but it's too early to tell. Not super jerk, but has his moments.

Yeah, he can be a bit douche. To me he always struck me as someone who can come across as a jerk but doesn't go out of his way to be.

Just be warned that the Alfheim arc is when everything goes downhill in terms of quality.

Well, that all depends on your own experience. Ultimately, just go in with an open mind and form your own opinions.
