Agreed on that part, especially if you mean specifically the novels. (Since the anime goes in chronological order and brings in stuff from the second novel's side stories...which involve a lot of Kirito saving the girl-of-the-week.)

I still think they wasted a lot of potential with Aincrad by skipping two whole years almost every floor. That's one thing I really like about Fate Revelation Online: It's almost 300,000 words in and they're only on the 8th Floor.

They are actually releasing a light novel series that spends MUCH more time on each individual floor of Aincrad (it's a reboot of the series). It's name escapes me at the moment, but they talk about it on the wikipedia article.

Yeah, I know of it. It's good that the author is correcting his mistake but it's a mistake that shouldn't have been made in the first place.

The first two light novel volumes have been released in the US. They are in the process of releasing the others, with the next one being released December 16. The first of the progressive (or reboot) series comes out in the US March 24, 2015.
As for the original web novels... You mean the ones that were self-published by the author before official release, right? Or are you referring to the doshinji he published? Either way, I don't think they have been released in America.

Really good episode. It wasn't perfect by any means, but I enjoyed the fight scenes (they could've been longer but the animation was really good for once). Looking forward to see how they conclude this whole Yuuki thing.

Oh right. Kirito's perfect, everyone else gasps in awe of his flawlessness, and I am reminded about why I hate this franchise.
I wonder why Yuuki slaps herself right before going to battle.
Now I know why we didn't see the previous battle with this boss before.
… isn't Asuna a tiny bit suspicious about WHY they're disbanding?? And if it's such a serious issue, why can't they tell her about it?
Woah, Yuuki was a freaking one-man army at the start of this episode. Something that suffers from a lack of Show, Don't Tell in the novel is the abilities of the other Sleeping Knights though...we mostly only have Asuna's word for it that they're almost as skilled as Yuuki (though I suppose defeating a boss with a seventh of the usual personnel requirement speaks for itself). It seems to have been amplified in the transition to anime, Yuuki is surpassing the others by a wide margin.
Though really, as such high-levelled players they should have expected the opponents to heal. Why so surprised?
Asuna what are you doing, you're the healer, you're not supposed to be drawing boss aggro. Then again, berserk healer and all.
At this point in the series my brain kind of glazes over when Kirito starts pulling out OP moves. I do find it interesting that he wields Excaliber in his off-hand. Really attached to his black swords, huh?
Next week, drama incoming! My feels are not ready.
I also get the feeling the anime mistimed that shot of Asuna and Yuuki smiling beside each other. I thought it was supposed to be from the final scene of the arc, not the photo taken after the boss battle...Asuna has little reason to give that slightly sad look at this point.

Didn't expect the rest of the guild to be on hospice too; I'm glad that they were able to accomplish that achievement for themselves. Heck, I still would've been happy for them if their true reason was "we won't see each other for a while since we'll be busy, so let's do something awesome in-game". I can sort of relate to that.
