It's not a setting you see often in video games, and since Konami doesn't seem interested in making a proper sequel to Suikoden, a spiritual seems long overdue. I'd say that it that it may be worth keeping track of.
Interesting idea, but if they make General George Washington one of those bishounen type characters so help me I will choke the creator out.
...I want yaoi with him now.
Dammit
DAMMIT. I don't even like yaoi but that would be funny.
If someone wants to accuse us of eating coconut shells, then that's their business. We know what we're doing. - Achaan ChahKill it with fire please.
At least Shogun: Total War was cool.
Will we get to play John Adams?
"Hipsters: the most dangerous gang in the US." - Pacific MackerelBenedict Arnold will be a Guest-Star Party Member.
So. Let's all pause for a moment to smell what the Rock was, is, and forever will be... cooking.—Cave JohnsonThey'd better add Peter Francisco as a character.
And again the imperative thing for this game to not suck is no bishi character designs.
I'm always judgmental on the 18th of the month. I even rent one of those judge robes and wigs.
And I make slights at the game's expense regardless if I like it or not.
Is there something wrong with a little bit of ribbing?

These are the playable characters.
It won't link directly to them. Huh, nevermind.

Watch SymphogearLooks pretty cool. I approve of any RPG that has a unique setting not seen in other games of the genre.
I hope GW and the Founders have more than bit part/cameo appearances. RPG party consisting of George Washington, Ben Franklin, John Adams and Thomas Jefferson!
Why does this exist? I mean, who looks at the American Revolution and thinks "You know what this needs? Anime pretty boys."?
"Roll for whores."Class list is pretty small. I'd hope there's more than what they show there
Also, I can't help but notice the dragoons have a move that's mechanically identical to Jump, despite just sharing the name with the FF version
From what I can gather, this was originally a joke Hetalia fan-game, but was continued by a non-fan, and the only real thing kept are character's names and some looks.
So far, it seems all the playable characters are Keepers, semi-immortal beings who act as protesters and soldiers for various countries.
By the way, I found this line about a character funny: "Morag feels only cowards would rely on a weapon to kill a man thirty feet away, and prefers to utilize an old claymore in battle."
Looking forward to this, mostly because I miss that 32-bit aesthetic.
@Aondeug: There's already a picture of George Washington and the new protagonist of Assassin's Creed 3.

The emotions of others can seem like such well guarded mysteries, people 8egin to 8elieve that's how their own emotions should 8e treated. From FAQ:
Is this game yaoi?
No. This game is not pornographic homosexual Japanese animation.
Is this a Hetalia fangame?
No. The creator does not watch anime. Originally, this was a joke coding project that continually grew. Over time, it changed. Most of the characters were erased. As it stands right now, the game only keeps a few homages to the show. The character designs, concepts, etc. were completely changed.

Yeah, okay, wow. I first read about this on Siliconera a while back. It's a to-be-released freeware JRPG inspired by games like Suikoden and the early Final Fantasies. I'm really not sure what to think about this. The Kickstarter blurb says that they want to be "historically accurate", but the plot summary reads more like... well, a JRPG.
I'm curious: what does the Troper hivemind think about this concept? I'm mildly suspicious of edutainment, since either entertainment or education or both are usually lost in trying to get both, but I like American history and I like JRP Gs so I'm torn.
