It's a chess piece. Which as far as I know is not known for its character or personality or adherence to honorable codes of conduct.

The TRS thread about it could result in a dramatic redefinition or even cut. I think it's prudent to see where that goes.

Yeah, echoing Rodney here. TRSes can end up going some pretty drastic places - best let that play out first.

The picture was changed, without the consensus of a IP thread, on March 17th.

That's already in use on The Paladin.

Considering the TRS discussion, I'm fine to leave the chess piece in place until that resolves.

How about we just scrap the picture until TRS decides that to do with it?

The picture is not only non-demonstrative of the trope, it isn't even an example of the trope. It isn't even remotely related to the trope. It is like having a dragon picture on a unicorn page.

In this case, no picture at all would be better than the current picture.

Absolutely. A chess piece called a "knight". Just saying dragon/unicorn distance is exaggerated, it's closer than that.

But the trope isn't about chess, as you well know. Therefore, a picture of chess piece is not only non-demonstrative, but actively misleading.

Yeah I totally said those things and am arguing about those points. The trope will almost certainly be cut, who cares?

There is no certainty or near certainty, and at anyrate the TRS process could take days, weeks or even months. In the mean time, why have problem go un-fixed on page still visible to the public?

Granted deciding on a new picture can wait until after there is a decision made about the article, but it takes all of 30 seconds to pull the bad picture now. Not exactly a great effort. People are spending more time arguing about why it isn't worth the effort than it would take to fix the issue.

Who is arguing about anything? :P Just said the unicorn/dragon thing was an exaggeration. That's all.

The TRS thread ended with this being merged back into Knight in Shining Armor, so this is unnecessary.
