Should I reinstall? I got the Galactic Edition many many years ago and haven't played it in years.
So, it's been ten years, any chance of this series ever getting a sequel? I remember it being great fun.
I bought it on Steam (the whole thing is on sale right now for just a few bucks), but it installs in three different games. Do I just play the main games and will these other packs be automatically available?
Optimism is a duty. What games? I'd suggest Spore: Galactic Adventures.
IIRC, though, the servers have kind of shut down.
The odds of it getting a sequel are practically nil from my understanding.
"Any campaign world where an orc samurai can leap off a landcruiser to fight a herd of Bulbasaurs will always have my vote of confidence"Oh. Can you still play it, though? I could still log in on my old account. So will the space stage still be filled with other player's creatures?
Optimism is a duty. The servers are fine actually, there are still new creations being posted to this day. (You might be thinking of Darkspore, which did indeed shut down.)
As for the three different parts, vanilla Spore and the Galactic Adventures expansion install as separate apps, so you probably want to run Galactic Adventures. The Creepy and Cute parts pack works with either one.
Yeah, I tried running the Creepy and Cute pack directly, but it just threw error messages and refused to start. It's a bit of a sloppy port to Steam, if you ask me.
Optimism is a duty.Galactic Adventures is fun at first, but after a while you start getting impossible player-made missions that NPC empires won't stop trying to send you to. Which is a shame, because Creature Stage IN SPACE is a really neat idea.
Well, I think I'll not do that, then. Anyway, the game won't let me start when starting from that pack, so there's that.
Optimism is a duty. You can just delete missions out of the Sporepedia in game if you don't like them though.
God it took me forever to find this thread...
I'm finally replaying Spore. It's been forever since I last played it, I'm so excited!
Some call it stalking, I say walking just extremely close behindI saw this thread pop up and got excited for a second, thinking there was some juicy new Spore news
... If nothing else, I now have an excuse to revisit Spore sooner rather than later, at least.
God I wish. I just wanted to nerd out.
Some call it stalking, I say walking just extremely close behindI wish Spore wasn't weird on newer Windows >.>
Secret SignatureWhat do you mean?
Some call it stalking, I say walking just extremely close behindSpace Stage has issues I think, it crashes after like 30 mins to an hour of playing. You could run it in compatibility mode for Vista or XP like I tried but there's not much of a difference.
Secret SignatureGlorious....
Some call it stalking, I say walking just extremely close behindThis game really deserves a proper sequel.
Optimism is a duty. It'll get a sequel right after GTA 6 and Skyrim 2

The last time I logged in, a few weeks back, I could still see the data of others, or at least I assume I could since I would get various species with notes saying they originated from someone else. What sort of error messages are you getting?
