  • Rename (regardless of other choices).
  • Rewrite description, check examples for cleaning, but otherwise keep the page as is.
  • Soft split between fanservice and comedy versions of the trope.
  • Hard split between fanservice and comedy versions of the trope.

I would be loathe to use the word Punishment, since that covers way too many things. I fully expect more than a few female characters have received a Fan Service Pack as punishment by throwing out the clothes they loved and forcing them to get their hair cut.

Sometimes it's just a case of one character treating another as an infant - done to a grown person, it's a pretty major insult.

Such an example would probably be both, as I see no reason why they can't overlap. Comedy and fanservice are by no means mutually exclusive.

The Defied entry is a pretty weak example. A better example would be like in (IIRC) Heaven Help Us where one student is chased through the school by a disciplinarian whom he ultimately punches out.

We have consensus to rename and hard split. We need some name suggestions for both tropes.

Kinky Spanking? Fanservice Spank?

...Erm, it occurs to me that "spank" and "spanking" have an alternative meaning, too. ^^;

Corporal Punishment Spank? Punishment Spanking? Thats A Paddlin'?
