Shouting is not a good way to get your point across. And I love the fandom, but having huge pages for non-canon stuff is awfully self-indulgent.
I cut up one dozen new men and you will die somewhat, again and again.
Well, I guess that's just another reason Why Fandom Can't Have Nice Things...
Blue Pacific, signing off...I checked the Tear Jerker page just now. Personally, I really think it needs to be cleaned up a bit. What do you guys think?
Try to please everyone who isn't going to whine about everything like a complete dickAny natter should be zapped but I'd advise against removing any examples outright. Things that may seem like weak examples might hit uncomfortably close to home for some viewers.
Yeah, I cleaned up some of the Tear Jerker Natter earlier, but outright removing examples is a much greyer area.
Relatedly, I just finished cleaning up the Awesome page a bit. Damn but this fandom is excitable.
they/them || "Forgive me, regent of queer amphibians" - Lt.BGobEh, I guess you guys have a point there.
I'm just glad the Nightmare Fuel page is gone. It seemed like the only reason it was there was for people to overreact.

Try to please everyone who isn't going to whine about everything like a complete dickOverreaction is what fandoms do. In this case, the enormous amount of overreaction may be because expectations were initially set so low.
Tear Jerker is not troper tales.
Also, I'd like put in my two cents on the pony puns in trope titles. I say we keep the witty puns, and get rid of just the forced sounding ones.
I'll be honest, it's hard to differientate.
Could you give an example?
Try to please everyone who isn't going to whine about everything like a complete dickAnyone want to change "she was THE writer and director of Powerpuff Girls and Foster's Home'
Seems to sell Craig short.
Come to think of it, the trope titles look fine now. It's been cleaned up since I last looked.
Also, are we adding the booze stuff back, someone posted a quote backing up that it was stuff that got past the radar.
After reading the main post, I agree with the awesome by character. The Order Of The Stick does that, with the main cast, the main recurring, the villains, and then everyone else under a final tab—this helps since it ends up with usually under 10 examples per character because it shows the truly EPIC moments instead of just something cool they happened to do, for example Fluttershy having a minor moment (like simply standing with the group against something but not doing much individually) would seem weaker if it was visibly much closer to her standing up to the Dragon on her own or staring down the cockatrice. When you put all that a character has done in one space, the actually awesome is easier to pick out.
I do agree that the awesome page and funny page have gotten out of control, though Funny should probably still be by episode since many are funnier than others and if we went by character Pinkie and a few others would have posts that never ended. Then again, Funny is usually the longest for most shows that aren't exclusively drama/action/horror.
Tearjerker is usually hardest since so many different things make people cry, and other pages do allow tears of joy (but those usually don't have pages this darn big). Other than tidying and organizing and making sure spoilers are properly marked, I'm not so sure what to do there.
Finally, some of the character pages seem a bit crowded. I remember the last time I read Discord's tab there were a lot of tropes that just seemed to restate the same thing in their descriptions (after the name of the trope) but weren't grouped like that sort of thing usually is when I see it elsewhere.

We probably should, since the quote came from a senior storyboard artist and no one from the show has ever contradicted her statement.
What quote?
"The Daily Show has to be right 100% of the time; FOX News only has to be right once." - Jon StewartThis one. It's from a chat log at Equestriadaily. "Sibsy" is the screenname of Sabrina Alberghetti, one of the show's senior storyboard artists. She also uses this name on her Deviantart page. It's definitely her.
She is under the impression that standards prevent her from making Berry Punch drunk. I think that ought to be good enough for us.

Are we going to keep that spacing to represent different messages, or mark them with ellipsis? Because I think using a quotation 16 lines long (or even 14, if you remove the irrelevant first two) goes against the "concise" guideline.

"The Daily Show has to be right 100% of the time; FOX News only has to be right once." - Jon StewartThey are separate lines in the chat log. I have now replaced the line spaces with "/" to make it shorter. I don't know what else to do. Do we have guidelines for quoting chat logs?

Tested out a reorganized CMoA page on my userpage as suggested above. Thoughts?

While we're all at this individual C Mo A thing, If we're going to do that, then at the same time, we should still kinda keep an eye out for the examples. I tend to notice a common trend among certain C Mo A pages that while there are actually awesome moments in there, there tends to be examples that are only interpreted as awesome. What do you guys think we should do about those though?
Try to please everyone who isn't going to whine about everything like a complete dickAnother thing... the characters pages are severely overusing the label Deadpan Snarker. Twilight Sparkle easily applies, with Spike, Discord, and Rainbow Dash being grey areas but probably close enough to warrant a mention. Applejack and Luna probably don't count, and listing Fluttershy as such should be out of the question altogether. (Even the quotation... which is supposed to be used as a sample of snarkiness rather than evidence of it... doesn't seem to be so much sarcasm in-context as a plain rebuttal.)
Silent Snarkers like Opal and Angel count, but something seems a bit redundant about labeling them Deadpan Snarkers when the same trope list is going to mention their only form of snarkiness just down the list anyway.

"The Daily Show has to be right 100% of the time; FOX News only has to be right once." - Jon StewartFluttershy is definitely not a deadpan snarker. Even if the quote on her page counts (and I don't think it does) a Deadpan Snarker is someone who does this habitually. She doesn't.
Exactly, and it was the same point I was making.
I'm going to scrap Fluttershy, Applejack, and Luna. These characters seem to say non-sarcastic things much more often than they say sarcastic things, which seems to be enough to disqualify them. Plus, it diminishes the mention of Twilight Sparkle.
EDITED IN: Given how prone to misuse Deadpan Snarker is, I decided to add comment code linking to this thread in place of the entries I removed, as well as to the deadpan snarker entry here and the MLP:FIM entry here.
