I would be more inclined to keep this as a trope and just restrict it to in-universe examples and parodies to move away from the list of names that is currently its example page.
I feel like giving a character an elaborate first name and simple and common last name tends to be intentional, so it is worth making a trope about. Maybe it would be worthwhile to shift Sesquipedalian Smith over to that definition, assuming there is not already a trope like that.
"irhgT nm0w tehre might b ea lotof th1nmgs i dont udarstannd, ubt oim ujst goinjg to keepfollowing this pazth i belieove iN !!!!!1 dThat definition sounds closer to the spirit of most of the examples.
This trope is not what I thought it was.
^^^ That works, too. Anything broader and more tropable is better.

You see a crowner lying on the ground.

You can't do that to the crowner.
> Take crowner
Crowner taken.
EDIT: Snapshot today:
5 (yeas:7 nays:2) Redefine Sesquipedalian Smith to be about when a common last name is paired with an unusual first name in order to draw attention to the first name.
-3 (yeas:2 nays:5) Redefine Sesquipedalian Smith to be about using syllables in names to make a name more melodic and memorable, similar to Alliterative Name.
-3 (yeas:1 nays:4) Do Nothing.

Waiting on a TRS slot? Finishing off one of these cleaning efforts will usually open one up.You Can't Get Ye Crowner.
Rhetorical, eh? ... Eight!Ccoa already made that joke...
I'd like to point out that the current top option is the current definition of the trope. Was the page rewritten, or is this TRS thread attempting to accomplish nothing?
Belief or disbelief rests with you.Looks like abk0100 went ahead and changed the trope without waiting for consensus.
Suspending him.
EDIT: Also, calling the crowner. I don't know why he couldn't just wait.

Do we want to restrict the examples to parodies and in-universe examples?
Waiting on a TRS slot? Finishing off one of these cleaning efforts will usually open one up.I'd agree with making this In-Universe and parody so that it doesn't become just a list of names.
"For a successful technology, reality must take precedence over public relations, for Nature cannot be fooled." - Richard FeynmanHe acted on the 12th. The crowner was put up on the 21st. Not really the same thing.
Waiting on a TRS slot? Finishing off one of these cleaning efforts will usually open one up.I wasn't trying to redefine the trope with that edit. I was trying to keep the requirements the same, but added more description on the way the trope is normally used. I guess I assumed we didn't need a crowner for a change like that until I saw you made one.

It's possible you might not need a crowner to redefine a trope, but you need more than two people saying "it should be this."

Waiting on a TRS slot? Finishing off one of these cleaning efforts will usually open one up.I wasn't here at the time, but it sounds like it was 'two people in the thread, and all the examples on the page'... <_<
The Revolution Will Not Be Tropeable"All the examples on the page" supported the original definition, with one or two exceptions.
Now, can we talk about the repair? If they want to discuss his suspension, there are avenues for them to do so.

Crown Description:
The trope is currently a list of characters with 3 syllable first names and one syllable last names. The tropability of this has been called into question. The trope has 35 wicks and 125 inbounds.
We need a "broaden" tag for TRS, methinks.
At any rate, the trope is currently "three syllable first name, one syllable last name to call attention to the first name."
First, I don't think this is the trope. I think it's following the rules for how a name can be made more melodic, as any prospective or current mother probably knows. Like Alliterative Name, this isn't done by accident - the author has chosen the name in order to make the name roll off the tongue a little easier, and thus be more memorable to the audience. This in turn makes the character more memorable.
Second, this is too narrow of an interpretation of the trope. The actual rule is "one syllable first name with multi-syllable last name" (Zap Vexler, Ford Prefect), "multi-syllable first name with single syllable last name" (Indiana Jones, Huckleberry Finn), or "single syllable first name with single syllable last name" (James Bond, Max Steele).
Third, assuming we keep this, I think it should be example-less (or else restrict to in-universe type examples, such as when Homer Simpson renames himself Max Power). The potential example list would be huge and would be nothing more than a list of names.
