Does Not Illustrate: Invincibility Power Up

The image is the Trope Namer, not an actual illustration. Not to mention it will be renamed soon.

Something actually showing a character getting the item and killing enemies with it would be best.

This image◊ doesn't show Mario getting the powerup, but it does show its effect. And this◊ image doesn't show the effect (edit: or the item), but its more attractive and makes enough sense.

Can I make a request to pull the current? It's not even the Trope Namer anymore.

It's not a meme or NWS so we can't pull it but we should definitely try to find something better.

Well, we could pull it if it detracted from the page, and no image is clearly better, but it isn't.

A good picture might be something from an instruction manual, or a before and after picture of a) grabbing the power up, and then b) turning invincible.

I think scans from the instructions for Super Mario Bros 3 or Super Mario World would do best.

Oddly it is a better image for a page named Invincibility Power-Up.

I'd prefer Final Starman's first image to the one currently on the thread.

@3 isn't particularly bad, but I wouldn't mind something from a newer game where the invincibility effect is more than just Palette Cycling.

The Giant Mushroom◊ from New Super Mario Bros is an invincibility power up, among other things.

But NSMB also has the standard invincibility powerup, which doesn't double as an Attack Of The Fifty Foot Mario....

I'd really suggest pulling, that's really JAFAAC.

It is a picture of an Invincibility Power-Up; it's not as if there is a complex idea that is not at all communicated by Just A Face unless you're familiar with the example. I am pretty hard on JAFAAC images, but it's better than nothing I think, and not bad enough to pull without replacement. Could be better though. Should the caption help more, for one thing?

It was "just a face" when the page was named Super Star, neither the name nor the image said anything about what the star is. Now one of the two does.

That doesn't matter. JAFAAC means that not showing what a thing/character does still means the picture is bad.

Of course I know what that means. I didn't say it's not Just A Face. I didn't say it's not bad. I said it's not that bad; not enough to pull without replacement. Better than Rainbow Mario, which is JAF and not a picture of an Invincibility Power-Up. As always, suggestions for improvement are welcome.

Blank crowner's hooked, and the snooze is hit.

I didn't put the Mega Mushroom on the crowner because the link is no longer working.

Not liking any of the crowner options thus far. Rainbow-colored Mario is basically JAFAAC territory too, because it only shows him glowing, not taking out enemies with the invincibility.

Show me something from Super Mario Galaxy or New Super Mario Bros, maybe.

Something other than the Mega Mushroom, I mean. That does a better job of depicting an Attack Of The Fifty Foot Mario◊ than it does the invincibility.

Cropped and enlarged the screenshot. I also made a version where the "underground" enemy has an outline. [1]◊ Since having an odd one out felt weird to me, I then went ahead and gave all the enemies that outline. [2]◊ I think might still like the outline-less one most though.

I would prefer 16-bit or more recent, e.g. something with invincibility sparkles to accompany the Palette Swap.

Pre-weekend bump for votes, we don't have anything in the green right now.
