Suggestion: Death Glare

Please excuse me in advance for the eventual trouble.

I know the Death Glare article got an Image Pickin' thread a few months ago. Back then, I found a pic for the article, but I missed the thread by a few days. I asked Willbyr for advice via PM, he told me my suggestion would have been a good contender, and adviced me to wait for a month before re-opening the thread with it. 3 months have now passed.

So, my suggestion: this page◊ from Midori Days.

I think that the second, third, fourth and fifth panels are the relevant ones, so I've edited them to fit at wiki size, and flipped them to Western way of reading. What do you think about it?

Okay, that glare is much better than the one currently on the page.

The top two panels aren't needed, and I'd lean towards dropping the last panel as well. But yeah, that's better than the image currently on the page.

Could use a caption that mentions the Unsound Effect.

Meh, don't care for that one at all. The current is decent, but I like the suggestion a little better...I'd be fine with either the OP version or just the last two panels.

OP works well as a single-panel image.

I think the last two panels of the suggestion is the best option. I like the idea of having somebody on there reacting to the glare.

The current image doesn't look that good to me, TBH. That panel in the OP suggestion looks much more menacing because of how exaggerated it is.

This is one of those cases where a drawn picture seems unnecessary.

Why not a picture of Bruce Lee ([1]◊) or Clint Eastwood ([2]◊)?

Lee looks more focused, and Eastwood looks like he's got the sun in his eyes.

Thank you for suggesting live action images. The Bruce Lee one doesn't really work for me, but the Eastwood one isn't terrible.

I think the whole thing in the op is just great and lampshades the concept.

Edit: I like the Serenity one on Image Links best. It certainly fits the "calm" requirement.

The first doesn't look like a death glare to me. It looks like 'something just happened to my left'. None of the other live-action ones that have been suggested seem clear to me either.

Some version of the OP works excellently, I think.

Yeah, that is a very good one. Also shows "calm" very well.

If the evil glare shot by the stepmother in Cinderella doesn't count, then I vote for the last two panels in the OP suggestion.

Yeah, that counts. If it doesn't go on the page it would make a nice addition to the Image Links page.

Having not seen Cinderella, that just looks like mild annoyance to me. So many suggestions for this page, both in the old thread and this one, just don't clearly have the air of repressed rage that this needs to convey.

Yeah, the thing I like about the OP suggestion is that it's entirely unambiguous. A lot of the other suggestions might be clear in context, but on their own can easily be mistaken for other emotions.
