Blight shook his head. "I've never really felt the need to carry around ammo." Blight said, "There's always plenty on the ground."

"Ammo on the ground? In my experience, there usually isn't" Ross said, sparing a glance at the walker as Clark's two shots put it down for good. "This time we're just lucky, in a sense" he added, passing the empty pistol back to Blight then walking back along the lawn a short ways.

There he crouched down and picked up the sword still laying there near the scattered bones. After standing a giving a few experimental one-handed swings, he turned and walked back to the group. "Not my first choice, but it's better than nothing" Ross muttered, holding back to let those with firepower take the lead.

Clark's quick scan around told him basically nothing he didn't already know about the outside of the house, but he did get a good chance to look into the front foyer. Being a foyer, it was a large and fairly open room, going to the back of the building with an opposite set of doors opening out to an outdoor pool area. Even with the lights off, there was enough window light to see pretty clearly in the room. On the left side near the front door was what looked like an entrance to a hall, but anything in there couldn't be made out without going inside. There was a doorway on the left farther away than the hall entrance, and two more doors on the right; all three of these doors were either left open or torn down entirely. There was also a staircase that started near the far end of the room going right, and curved around to face towards the front of the building.

And visible for a moment on that staircase was the upper part of a somewhat familiar skeletal figure missing its right shoulderblade, peering over the wooden railing at the front door. Upon seeing Clark looking in, it pulled back into cover and out of sight again.

Essie relaxed a bit, lowering the LMG back onto her shoulder strap and adjusting her beret, which had gone off-kilter.

"Anything in there apart from Skelo-man? If he's still there, anyway," she called over her shoulder.

Dean stepped inside the manor, but not before stopping to pick up the double barrel shotgun and the four shells on the ground. He folded up the stock on his kriss and tried his best to tuck it inside the big pouch on the inside of his jacket, but part of it still stuck out. It was times like these that he wished that he had some kind of pack to carry these things, since shotguns were sometimes more effective, but all he had was a duffel bag and he had left that back in his room.

"That thing is really starting to get on my nerves. It's just playing around with us, till it gets a chance to strike.", Dean said as he loaded up the shotgun. If he ran out of shells before he got to the skeleton he could at least use the shotgun as a club and break its skull.

Ross followed Dean, but stopped at the doorway a little hesitantly. "Yeah, skeleton's aren't dumb. He'll be waiting for-" Ross didn't manage to finish the sentence, as suddenly two pistol shots rang out from their left. Two shots went towards Dean from that direction, one zipping past his head but the other slamming right into his helmet. The helmet, doing its job, ensured that Dean wasn't hurt, but the loud pinging noise of metal against metal right near his ear and the sudden vibrating of the helmet dazed him.

"Shit!" Ross yelled, dropping the sword and wrapping his good arm around Dean to pull him out of the line of fire as two more shots went wide in front of them. As Ross and the dazed Dean stepped back away from the front door, a figure stepped into view in the left hallway near the door. The figure was another skeleton, holding a glock pistol in its right arm and a metal shield strapped to the other. It peeked around quickly, firing another shot through the open doorway that hit a grand total of nobody before stepping back into the hall for cover.

Ross let go of Dean as the Skeleton went back in, cursing under his breath as Dean's daze wore off.

"Damn it!" Essie jumped as the bullets rammed past her side and quickly took the skeleton's step back into the hall for a chance to stand by the wall near the door for cover.

They can shoot now? That's damn unfair, she thought furiously.

She flipped the LMG back down again into her hands and waited for it to come back out.

Clark pulled his Barrett M82 from off his back, stepped back a good distance, and warned the others to do the same. "I'll need someone to spot the skeleton inside, though. Who's got some reflective metal?" He asked as he moved to a prone position and pointed the gun at the wall of the mansion. The M82 was classified as an anti-materiel rifle for a good reason.

"Keep that thing pinned down. They wield shields and take cover, that means they've still got some self preservation" Ross instructed Essie, since she was in a prime position to do so. Then Ross looked at Clark and thought over his suggestion. He glanced at the sword he dropped just in the doorway, but it was far too old and faded to get a decent reflection off of.

"Best I've got is a knife. You think you could make a shot like that with it?" Ross said quietly, producing a hunting knife from one of his inner coat pockets. Before Clark could answer, a noise inside got Ross's attention and he turned his head to look inside again.

Inside, the other skeleton had vaulted over the far side of the stair railing, landing hard on the tile floor with much bone rattling. It got up, and started to move towards the farther door on the right side of the room. Having taken the quicker way down the stairs, it would reach the door within a second or so, but that still left a window of time for a reaction. Essie, from her angle, would notice the skeleton with the gun and shield starting to slowly move forward into her view, shield first and held at the ready.

Ross watched with one eyebrow raised as the skeleton that had been at the stairs move into one of the side doors. "Wonder where that thing's going" Ross muttered, moving up to the other side of the door from Essie and crouching down. He held his knife out into the doorway and peered at it closely.

"Looks like it's about... Six feet away, moving forward slowly" Ross said, after noting the size of the tiles in the room and how many were between him and the skeleton. Ross flinched as the skeleton fired the pistol again, the bullet going just past the knife in his hand. "Okay, it's stopped at about five feet from the door frame" he added as the skeleton fired and missed again.

Clark sighted the designated area and fired three shots into the wall, their armor-piercing capabilities splintering the facing like so much wheat before a gale. He re-centered his sight and waited for a report on the results of his shots.

The three shots tore through the side of the building, meeting little resistance in their path of destruction. Ross watched as the first shot blasted a hole through the wall just behind the skeleton, which made it turn in confusion. As it did, the second shot came through, getting the skeleton right in the eye socket and exiting out the side of its skull. The skeleton collapsed in a scattering pile of bones as the third shot tore another hole above its falling skull.

Ross watched through the knife reflection, and gave a nod to Clark. "You got it" Ross informed, leaning around to look into the front room directly. "I think we're clear to secure this front room. Don't forget there's still at least one more skeleton and God knows what else" he said, standing up and walking through the front doorway to get a better look around.

"Power's off" Ross muttered after flipping the light switch on and off a few times to no effect. He put the knife away and dug a large flashlight out of another pocket, but didn't turn it on just yet; it was still fairly lit in the front room due to the large windows. There were roughly four bodies in the front room in various positions, but none of them seemed inclined to be less dead than a doornail. "So, one hallway, three doors, and a staircase. We could try following the other skeleton" he added aloud; it sounded less like a suggestion and more like a mere statement.

OOC: don't worry she won't appear properly for another few posts.

Kintra starts packing her bag to leave her current vamp slaying group. as ahe reaches to pack her gun it miss-fires into the ground. "And I guess thats my exit ruined." She says as the other two members of her small team wake up scrambling for their firearms.

"WHA-WHAT ARE WE SHOOTING AT?!" one of them exclaims while grabbing his shotgun.

"It's nothing my gun miss-fired." Says Kintra shakeily.

"wait a moment." The other hunter says. "I think Kintra's leaving."

"WHAT she can't leave. only she can sneak in and stake a vamp."

"I am leaving and you can't stop me."

"Sorry I have to resort to this." He points his shotgun at Kintra. "But if you leave I shoot."

Kintra looks at him in shock. "Err well I'll unpack, ok?" She reaches into her bag and takes out her guns, holsters them then primes her last grenade. "If you shoot i'll drop this and we all die." The hunters both look quite scared at this new turn of events, they put down their weapons. Kintra tosses the grenade and runs. She hears shots fired and sees some people ahead. She follows them, all the while wondering just how long it will be until the hunters work out the grenade was a dud. It will never go off.

Despite the seriousness of the situation, Ross couldn't help but break out into a short laugh after Blight's quip. "We still could. You want to?" Ross joked in return, turning his attention to the fallen skeleton and walking over to it.

"Ah, here we go" Ross muttered, pocketing the flashlight and picking up the glock pistol. He walked back to the foyer and looked like he was about to say something else, when a strange noise came from the room the other skeleton had gone into. It was like something was trying to breath in and moan at the same time, only drawn out, and loud.

Ross turned his attention to the door, pistol at the ready. "Skeletons don't make a noise like that.*

Everyone take position" Ross said, keeping the pistol trained on the doorway as footsteps could be heard approaching from the other side.

Clark moved forward but remained as sharpshooter cover for the others, as if they could not drop something his heavy-caliber weapon likely would give it pause enough for them to use the appropriate armament.

A figure stepped into the doorway that the skeleton had retreated into. It wasn't the skeleton, but it certainly wasn't Human; at least, not anymore. The figure was mostly black; charred black, like it had been inside a burning building. There was more wrong with the appearance than just that though; there didn't seem to be as much flesh as there should have been, with bits of bone being visible here and there, particularly the skull. And the entire stomach area below the ribcage seemed hollowed out, barely there at all. Lastly was the eyes; glowing bright red entirely, looking at the group almost as if it was looking through them.

The ghoul made the same noise from before once again, and started to advance at a quick walking pace. Ross, eyes widening in recognition and a good dosage of fear, started firing the glock at the ghoul. In response, the ghoul roared and stopped, just under the curved staircase. It raised its arms up, grabbed the edge of the staircase, and started pulling. Sounds of wood creaking and starting to break mixed into the sound of gunfire.

After Dean had recovered from the ringing in his head, he stood up and aim his double barrel at the ghoul. Normaly Dean would be calm in a situation like this, but he was mad. He had been shot in the head by some scumbag skeleton and now this thing was trying to take down the stairs, maybe to throw it at them.

But Dean wasn't gonna give it a chance...so he let loose both barrels at the ghoul and pulled out his pistol, ready to fire if that wasn't enough.

The pistol rounds and shotgun pellets seemed to do little to the ghoul, besides the ones that hit it in the head, which only slowed it for a moment. Clark's anti-material rifle tore a hole right through the ghoul's chest though, which made it howl it pain. Well, if it could be called a howl; every noise the ghoul made sounded as if it was simultaneously trying to inhale.

Meanwhile, another figure had entered the room through the doorway behind the ghoul. The skeleton with one useless arm thanks to Clark, trying to remain unnoticed with the attention on the ghoul. In its good hand was a fire axe, kept down at its side while it started moving along the edge of the room towards the group of bounty hunters.

Clicks came from the glock in Ross's hand, followed by curses from his mouth. The wooden stairs finally had enough, and a curved, splintered chunk of wood nearly as tall as a person came off the bottom rim of the stairway as the ghoul ripped it out. With another inhaling roar, the Ghoul threw the chunk of wood with considerable strength at the closer target that had angered it. Ross's cursing paused as the impromptu projectile went through the air towards Blight, side first.

The pellets from the shotgun clearly hit the ghoul right in the chest, there were marks from the impact. Yet, the ghoul didn't even react beyond a small flinch from the force of impact. Growling, it started towards Blight at a fast walking pace.

"Oi! Arson victim!" Ross yelled from his position, now holding the glock by the barrel. Having run out of ammo for it, Ross resorted to a different tactic; swinging it overhand, Ross threw the gun at the ghoul.

And the ghoul caught it. It stopped, and looked at the gun now in its hand. After a moment of apparent inspection, the ghoul brought up its other hand, and started crumpling the gun into a ball like one would with some cardboard. "Well fuck..." Ross muttered, annoyance in his voice at the ineffectiveness of his action. Although, he had made it stop moving, for the moment at least. He dug the combat knife out of his coat again, just as something else caught his attention.

"Dean, on your right!" Anyone who looked to Dean's right as warned would see the skeleton, finally making its own move. It was walking away from the wall at a quick pace straight towards Dean, its one good arm raising up the fire axe to undoubtedly bring down towards the bounty hunter.

Dean had dove to the ground avoiding the chunk of staircase the ghoul had thrown and was getting to his knees when Ross alerted him of the skeleton. He spun around on the ground and brought the shotgun up with both hands, using it to block the fireaxe. Using the block to his advantage, he kicked out with his right foot and tried to break the monsters knee.
