Oh, God, this again.

I... actually kinda know Ben (well, more like knew; I haven't talked to him in literally years). He's not as bad a guy as he seems. Basically, he really liked Hi Hi Puffy Ami Yumi and is pissed off at Cartoon Network because they decided to abandon the brand. He assumes that everything they've done since then is soulless and cheap and condemns great series (Adventure Time, Sym Bionic Titan) without even watching them. And he hates change, no matter how big or how small.

In short, he's an adolescent coming into his own and having a hard time leaving his angry years behind. Don't judge him too harshly. Not that I'm opposed to people pointing out how full of crap he can be.

Off Topic, but need to tell this:

Benthelooney commented about what I said about him on the Benthelooney forum on Youtube!

Bump.

The original series (Pre-Ben T. Looney) was amazing. It wasn't like anything on You Tube at the time and fairly underrated. Ben ranted on several topics without fear of criticism and had the guts to stand up for what he believed in. I felt he inspired me to almost make a video series about topics I believed in and stood for this time. Granted, people have always been ranting on You Tube but Ben added a few twists. Unfortunately, around this time he was subjected to alot of criticisms and eventually cancelled his rants because he ran out of things to rant. I would equate it to a predecessor of what TV Trash has become recently (I always enjoyed TV Trash but I feel that it has gotten better and it ironically got better around the time Ben Rants started to decline)

The rebooted/revived rants series, however? I know that this is around the time he became popular (Despite Wordof God that he never wanted to become a popular You Tuber, he is far more well-known and positively received than he was in the original run) but I also felt that this was the moment he declined. Ben Rants didn't decline straight away, the first couple of comeback videos were actually good and on par with the original run despite the first comeback video having a Big Alligator Lipped Moment that went on for too long. The problem began for me, when he started contradicting alot of his previous statements and losing consistency and I personally wanted to believe that was just me. But it got worse when he started to turn his avatar into a cartoon character and the 2013 season was just unwatchable to me. Everything about the revival rants that I didn't like was turned Up To Eleven in that season and made me regret asking for the rants back. His latest couple of videos are actually okay, but the fact that he has a bigger fanbase now just goes to show that I actually feel Ben changed the formula of his videos to attract a wider audience.
