In the end, stealing is stealing,end of story,regardless of your status.

If you really want it available where you are talk to your distributor,if they say no then you just have accept it. People need to get it to their thick skulls that you cant always get what you want.

That's true, but that's not gonna stop people.

[down] Yeah. It doesn't matter if we read the manga on the internet or not, since they're not selling the volumes at our places we wouldn't be able to buy either way.

Well, if they're not even going to grace us with the volumes, then they can't bitch that we have to go to the internet to read them.

[up][up][up] Which distributors? Here we have none.

And after that, really, if I read scans I'm doing the companies absolutely no good or ill at all, since they never intended to sell me the product anyway.

And really, 'thick skulls'? Watch the language out. You don't need to be rude to convey your message.

It's free. Going to read it. Economics 101. I tend to drown out the not so much guilt I feel by saying it's the scanlator's fault

@Napoleon

It sucks to be manga buyer in your country sad Importing is so expensive compared to buying from local publishers.

In Poland, we have two local publishers + Viz. But nobody buys Viz if Polish equivalent is available, since frankly, Viz's translation suck.

Translations here are rather average, but One Piece's is quite outstanding. Guys do good work at translating Oda's puns to be comprehensible for non-Japanese, but without losing too much in translation.

And Zoro here is Zoro, fortunately.

@napolean

Yes that was too far,ill keep it civil

As for the no distributors thing,ill use my previous answer for that, LIFE SUCKS.

Nothing you can really do about it,I'm not gonna stop you from reading scanalations.

What really ticks me off is that people are getting mad at them,even though they are handling this like any other company. The vibe I'm getting is"how dare they protect their licences like a normal company. They had every right to do this,and are only able to license to certain markets.

I keep on dreaming that one day Japanese manga publishers will establish their own in-house English translation departments, put up English versions in their own website and just charge a read all you can monthly fee.

I am surprised how these ones lasted so long. In fact, since I do not use Mangafox, I thought they had already drop it long ago.

I'm pretty sure they did drop all the licensed series a while back, but then they put them back up when no one was looking.

@ARC 1300: So basically you're saying that if no one is distributing to a country, too bad?

No. Screw you. If no one is distributing to a country, it does the creators no harm if you get it illegally.

Are you the type who thinks it's morally reprehensible if people jaywalk? Hate to break it to you, kid, but the law isn't always right.

sorry for the necro, but could someone contact mangastream on their facebook or twitter & ask them to bring back their forum. I actually find the loss of that worse than than the loss of the freedom to put up major series' scans.

(mainly, I want nothing to do w/ twitter or facebook, so I ask here in the hopes someone can contact them)
