Tires are always going to be the limiting factor when it comes to these record breaking hyper cars. We need some sort of super tire technology breakthrough.
Oh really when?for fast cars, i would recomend Audi R8, it's my dream car
Bumbleby is best ship. busy spending time on r/RWBY and r/anime. Unapologetic SocialistAs far as dream cars go, I suppose I have the car I want. I'm very fond of the Mazda RX-7 FD 3 S, but those are hard to find. So, I have an RX-8, and it's a pretty awesome car despite what some say about the reliability issues of the newer 13B rotary engine.
For dream cars I can never afford, I prefer the Ferrari F430. The 458 Italia is pretty nice, too.
On the fastest cars, I agree that top speed in straight-line travel is overrated. Track times on world-class arenas make more sense to me.

I've always been more partial to Japanese (and now to Korean) cars simply because of availability. Although I liked the Nissan Skyline GT-R's (and of course the new GT-R's) even though they're quite rare even here in this side of the Pacific (because we so happen to be not in Japan lol). The new Hyundai Genesis Coupe has the looks and enough of the power without being too expensive (it's better looking than the Toyota/Subaru car, more power, bigger engine, yet they have roughly the same price).
Of course they're still out of the price range though. Hence why we've got a Honda City in the past, and now a Hyundai Accent. While the City had slightly more power and 4WD, it has of course much less tech being an old car. The Accent has more of the tech and the other perks, is front wheel drive, but is slightly bigger than the City.

I'm reading this because it's interesting. I think. Whiskey, Tango, Foxtrot, over. Both the Hyundai Genesis coupe and the FR-S/BR-Z are impressive cars. They're not bad for the price. I went with a used RX-8 because it's cheaper, my credit isn't the greatest in the universe, insurance is lower (it's technically a four-door with a small-displacement engine) and the new Toyota/Subaru coupes haven't dropped in value since they're relatively new. The Genesis coupe is also somewhat harder to find.
One huge drawback of the RX-8 is its poor fuel economy, but that's to be expected based on the architecture of the rotary engine. They've never been all that fuel-efficient. I'm looking forward to some of the sports being designed with alternative energy in mind. Being green doesn't mean you can't still haul ass, and I'm glad to see that more and more car enthusiasts are starting to figure this out.

You want green supercars you've gotta look at the Porsche 918 or that fancy new McLaren P1. Those are smart enough to realize you can use a hybrid engine to actually go faster than a normal one.
And funnily enough there was this gorgeous RX-7 for sale on the side of the road a week ago in my town. Never got a chance to call the guy about it though, one day it just disappeared. I'm assuming he sold it.

Oh really when? The BMW i8 is a pretty impressive example of a hybrid sports car as well. Near 911 performance for 60% of the real world fuel consumption isn't half bad.
Rotary engines are surprisingly efficient when run at constant RPMs or on hydrogen, though. I'm pretty sure Mazda has a hydrogen-fuelled RX8 prototype, not to mention the Mazda 2 range-extender hybrid they introduced a while ago. If hydrogen becomes a viable fuel in the future, the angry buzzing noise will return. Hopefully.

Oh really when?A Ferrari 250 GTO just broke the world record price for a car sold at auction.
What did it go for? $38 million. But damn, if the 250 GTO isn't one of the most beautiful cars ever created. Up there with the E-type Jag, the DB5, the Countach, the Nash Ambassador, and the Lagonda 2.6.
Schild und Schwert der Partei38 million. Mona Lisa is worth 100 million, for a piece of art like the 250 GTO that's a bargain.
Oh really when? Not very satisfied with the previous one they've made a new track monster with Veyon power. That still saves the planet.
Oh really when?Am I a complete philistine if I think that Ferrari's front end is a bit too...droopy for my taste?

The price is going to be off the charts. But I can't honestly say I like the design. Looks a bit like an Aston Martin that has been starved for a year.

Schild und Schwert der ParteiThe price won't probably be publically disclosed, especially as there will only be 10 of them.

I suspect if its anything like the Veyron, you'll have to change them after making a single top-speed run. Which you'll only be able to do on track days at a handful of circuits worldwide. Toys for rich eejits.
