You missed the fact that the index is just the examples of the trope on this site. I think the index bit should go. It's making it hard to see it's a trope.
Reality is that, which when you stop believing in it, doesn't go away. -Philip K. DickJust move it to a "TV Tropes" folder in the example section.
So the page isn't even about "doom tropes"? Then we might not even need that list. And the page type should be "trope".

I'm on the internet. My arguments are invalid.I think that the page type is probably a hold over from the days before we had Trope + Index.
Reality is that, which when you stop believing in it, doesn't go away. -Philip K. DickI mean it shouldn't be an index at all, as the list falls under a search generator, not a proper index.
I'm on the internet. My arguments are invalid.Right. We do not need an index of "tropes with doom in the title."
And any tropes about doom itself would be covered under Death Tropes, I think.
I'm on the internet. My arguments are invalid.I've also seen this misused to make a lame joke out of anything with "doom" or similar words in the title.
"Did anybody invent this stuff on purpose?" - Phillip Marlowe on tequila, Finger Man by Raymond Chandler. The tropes listed here are certainly examples of this trope, but I don't see any need for it to be an index.
Rhymes with "Protracted."So... should we just cut out that part.
I'm on the internet. My arguments are invalid.Well, I mean, they are examples. So we could put them in an examples folder. Wiki.TV Tropes is a work.
Rhymes with "Protracted."Well is just slapping "doom" in a trope name an actual example? That just could be done with "Even on this very site, 'Doom' is used in the names of some tropes for the meaning it conveys."
I'm on the internet. My arguments are invalid. The first paragraph of You Fool! applies pretty well to Doomy Dooms of Doom as well. If that helps.
Rhymes with "Protracted."
It's done like a Search Generated Index right now.
