Whoops, wrong compilation I had in mind. I thought Anthology was SS 2-4.

Though, it'll probably kill them to have online play for all the featured games. SS 6 with all the characters unlocked may be better.

The main character of Samurai Shodown VII will be Iroha.

Anthology has all of the mainline SS games barring V Special on it, from I to VI.

I've noticed something about Charlotte's themes throughout the series. Her SSIV theme has Japanese instrumentals in lieu of the Western classical instruments heard in her SS1, SS2 and SSRPG themes. What gives?

'What gives' is that the the SS team was scaling back the scope and aesthetics after II from a global perspective to a more local one. That didn't stop non-Japanese characters from making it in, but it did mean that straight up non-Japanese music styles were largely a thing of the past, at least until SSVI when they widened the scope again.

New question: Who are the canonical "winners" of each of the games?

• 1&2:Haohmaru
• 3: Shizumaru
• 4: Kazuki
• 5 Yoshitora
• 6 Andrew? It's a Dream Match, so it's hard to tell if there's even supposed to be a canonical winner, never mind that there hasn't been another mainline game made after it yet.

Generally speaking, if there's a new hero, (and there almost always is,) then he's gonna' 'win' it, ala KOF.

What about the 64 games and Warrior's Rage?

I'm not really sure, honestly. I tried looking it up on SNK Wikia, but all it gives me is the prologues in the freaking manuals. I think Asura 'won' 64 2, (who was again the new 'hero', if you can call him that,) and Warrior's Rage's new hero Seishiro Kuki probably 'won' that, but I've no clue about the first 64, because that didn't have a new hero. Maybe Haohmaru?

Given the setting mentioning the French Revolution due to Charlotte's participation in it, would she have sided with Napoleon Bonaparte or not, given him taking over France ended the Revolution?

I honestly don't think SNK put that much thought into Charlotte's life story, really.

That's some weapons she's sporting. She looks like she might be a bit buffer than Nakoruru or Charlotte too.

This is exactly the kind of character that gets me hyped. Nice to see SNK still ain't afraid of muscles on girls. And she's a nice brown too, with an aura of toughness and confidence. Nice. Hoping her gameplay is legit. Her weapon looks sick too.
