This thread is for general discussion of page quotes, whether to change, move or remove them.
Unused quotes should be put on a Quotes Wiki page (just replace the namespace in the URL of the wiki page you are making a quotes page for with Quotes/) or, if they don't have an article, on Quotes Looking for an Article.
Image captions are discussed elsewhere and have their own thread in the Image Pickin' forum.

Badass Bookworm has two quotes. The first is long, but just the first sentence would work for the concept of the trope. Not really liking anything on the quotes page.
Coming back to where you started is not the same as never leaving. -Terry PratchettBadass Bookworm: First sentence of first quote of first page.
"For a successful technology, reality must take precedence over public relations, for Nature cannot be fooled." - Richard FeynmanBadass Bookworm: The first quote's not overly long, but the second half really doesn't add anything. Cut it down to the first sentence.
My alignment is Chaotic Cute.A suggestion for Badass Bookworm, from down in the examples:
"The academics of El Greco warmed up their computers, set up their data searches, and turned to the study of guerrilla warfare, sabotage, and assassination as if preparing to sit their doctoral orals. Within a year, they had two divisions tied down; by the time the Sphere gave it up as a bad deal and left, the Rishathan garrison had grown to three corps...and was still losing ground.
—>— David Weber, In Fury Born
I know it's not short but I think it catches the spirit of the trope really well.
...if you don’t love you’re dead, and if you do, they’ll kill you for it.Recruiting edited, Leverage quote moved. Also copied the Making Money quote there as well, so it won't look quite so silly having only one quote on the quotes page.
On Bookworm, either the Weber quote or the first sentence of the existing first quote works for me, no real preference either way.

All your safe space are belong to TrumpStill not too fond of the quote on Captain Obvious. It comes from a fandub that did a slapdash translation of someone surprised that someone wasn't really dead when they thought he was. So the context isn't even really this trope.
Plus there are loads of proper quotes.
- From The Empire Strikes Back:
- C-3PO: (after the ground shakes) "Sir, it's quite possible this asteroid is not entirely stable."
- Han Solo: Not entirely stable! I'm glad you're here to tell us these things."
- From Grand Theft Auto: San Andreas:
- Derrick Thackery: "Bottom line is, if they can't score more points than the other team, they can't win!"
- Caller: "Man, you got some spooky insights into sports."
Badass Bookworm: I like Maddie's suggestion, but the first sentence of the first quote would be okay as well.
Captain Obvious: I'm fairly neutral on the issue, but I think I prefer either the current quote or the Star Wars one to the second suggestion.
Badass Bookworm: -darn. I like either the first sentence or Maddy's suggestion.
Captain Obvious: Love the Star Wars one!
Coming back to where you started is not the same as never leaving. -Terry PratchettCaptain Obvious - can we use a quote that stands on its own more than that from Star Wars? I suggest something like "Ah, you've come over the water. Powerful wet stuff, ain't it?" (The Voyage of the Dawn Treader)
The Revolution Will Not Be TropeableNot really sure about Badass Bookworm.
Star Wars works for Captain Obvious.
There's a collection of images starting with Shirou saying that, followed by a bunch of examples from other anime where people don't die when they're killed. Which is exactly what he was talking about in the first place.
Check out my fanfiction!Captain Obvious: I would stay with the current. There is something about the Star Wars quote that seems a bit off.
"For a successful technology, reality must take precedence over public relations, for Nature cannot be fooled." - Richard FeynmanOk, since my suggestion for Bookworm hasn't been shot down utterly, let me see if I can be a bit more persuasive in favor of it....
The first line of the current first quote is "Trouble rather the tiger in his lair than the sage amongst his books." It's couched as advice. But it doesn't say why you shouldn't mess with a sage unless we add the second sentence: "For to you the Kingdoms and their armies are things mighty and enduring, but to him they are but toys of the moment, to be overturned by the flicking of a finger." And it's still general, and kind of hypothetical — he could do things you won't like if he feels like it.
My suggestion (see above) explains exactly why you don't mess with a bookworm, in specific terms, even if it's trimmed to just the first sentence. Add in the second sentence and it's a concrete example of why you don't mess with bookworms — not "they might" or "they could", but "they did".
...if you don’t love you’re dead, and if you do, they’ll kill you for it.Point. Definite point.
Coming back to where you started is not the same as never leaving. -Terry PratchettI don't understand the In Fury Born quote for Badass Bookworm. They study warfare but it doesn't sound like they're fighting.
Dragon Lady has two quotes, which one should stay?
New theme music also a boxDragon Lady: I would stay with the first one. The second one just parrots the trope name.
"For a successful technology, reality must take precedence over public relations, for Nature cannot be fooled." - Richard FeynmanConsidering how the first speaks about flying, it seems a little more literal than the trope is.
Check out my fanfiction!I wonder if that can be taken out and replaced with a [...].
"For a successful technology, reality must take precedence over public relations, for Nature cannot be fooled." - Richard FeynmanNeither one is about the trope on Dragon Lady. Cut 'em both.
...if you don’t love you’re dead, and if you do, they’ll kill you for it.No objections to cutting both on Dragon Lady.
No objection from me either.
Currently, I Resemble That Remark! have no page quote. From the Quotes page, I found this one:
Christine: No, I'm not.
—Erik: The Vampire Hunter
There are other quotes, but this one looks the most concise. Any objection or other suggestions?

I'm a (socialist) professional writer serializing a WWII alternate history webnovel. That works.
Check out my fanfiction!Looks good to me. Adding.
Heart Is an Awesome Power has a quote with a painful first line: " Dude, I'm battlin' zombies and all I got is luv pow3r from a n3wb magical grrl. Help me out here. "
Should it be replaced?
Coming back to where you started is not the same as never leaving. -Terry Pratchett
I'm not sure the one on Handsome Lech works. Knowing the character and the scene, it doesn't.
On Recruiting the Criminal, the proverb is easily the better.
