This thread is for general discussion of page quotes, whether to change, move or remove them.
Unused quotes should be put on a Quotes Wiki page (just replace the namespace in the URL of the wiki page you are making a quotes page for with Quotes/) or, if they don't have an article, on Quotes Looking for an Article.
Image captions are discussed elsewhere and have their own thread in the Image Pickin' forum.

It might be some weird holdover from an earlier time that was never fixed. It should probably be reported in the Bugs query.

If a tree falls in the forest and nobody remembers it, who else will you have ice cream with?De-tagged Narm.Game Of Thrones.
"For a successful technology, reality must take precedence over public relations, for Nature cannot be fooled." - Richard FeynmanSelf-Plagiarism is just restating the trope name. I suggest this from the Honest Trailers of Guardians of the Galaxy:
"What I'm trying to say is, they're the Space Avengers. But I guess it's technically not stealing if they're ripping off themselves."
I approve of that change. uh...

Sounds good to me.
The quote in Spectacle Fighter doesn't explain anything about the genre.
There's this quote I found from Urban Dictionary, though I'm not really sure of the source.
"All you ever do in Mad World is kill people extravagantly for points - it's totally a Spectacle Fighter."
Samuel L. Jackson has 2 quotes, and I'm honestly not fond of either. Any other alternatives?May

The quote for Rotoscoping seems complain-y. Does anyone have any suggestions, or may I just remove it?
Wrong type of complaining. Homer is in universe complaining.
It's still a bad quote since it doesn't say much about the topic. I'd pull it.

If a tree falls in the forest and nobody remembers it, who else will you have ice cream with?I agree, it just states the name of the concept.
The quote for Identical Grandson doesn't convey the trope that well, if at all. Looking at the quotes page, maybe the one from All This Time will work?
she/her | TRS needs your help! | Contributor of Trope ReportIs that a grammar error in that suggested quote? Can someone double check that?
Edit: Exact quote. The grammar error is present in the original text.

Just use it and do the [sic] thing.
If a tree falls in the forest and nobody remembers it, who else will you have ice cream with?I noticed it too, but chose that as it's the strongest of the other quotes.
Adding, with a [sic] for the Rouge Angles of Satin case.
she/her | TRS needs your help! | Contributor of Trope ReportI'm not sure how good the page quote or Base-Breaking Character is, so can I get a second opinion:
Also the only three examples on the quote page, don't really seem like they fit the trope any better:
Not saying Lana's a nazi, though there's always the off chance.
Simon: Lazy shite. He's just another member of the Tory party then, isn't he?
Joe: You're saying that the Doctor is a Tory?
Simon: Clearly going by what you just said. Tennant is Labour. He's for the people. Matt Smith is the Monster Raving Loony Party.
Grunkle Stan: That's debatable.
I think the page quote is fine. The other quotes seem tangentially related, if at all.
Yeah, the quote about is short and to the point. The others kind of miss the point.
Piling aboard the Cena quote. It may not be good, but it clearly demonstrates the trope well. The other quotes don't even seem appropriate for the quotes page.
Should they be removed then? I'm not entirely sure how strict the regulation of the Quotes subpage is.
I don't remember reading a policy page on quote pages. And I read all of them.
Some of those quotes seem very likely to be the work of serial complaining quote-spammer and ban-evader johnnyfog. However, I don't think that on its own means they should be cut.
The entries being added by a problematic troper is not an issue (unless it's added by a sock after the suspension, in which case any edit they make should be reverted regardless of the content). However, none of those quotes really describe the trope, and is barely related to the definition of the page.
The quote for Animal Eye Spies is too long for a quote, does anyone have an alternative?
Or perhaps someone knows how it should be shortened
New theme music also a box
While looking into the above, I noticed that Narm.Game Of Thrones (and, as far as I can tell, most or all of the example pages) has the Flamebait tag, but the main Narm page only has YMMV. That doesn't seem right.
