I see nothing there even remotely worth saving.
Actually, I think it COULD be cleaned up. I'll go to work on that right now - if my work fixes it, it could arguably stay. I think that if we clean it up and restrict it it COULD be a workable page, mostly to highlight the things that inspire certain variants of fiction and Memetic Mutation. But the natter, creepiness, and such definitely has to go....
?Cut, please.
It does not matter who I am. What matters is, who will you become? - motto of Omsk BirdJust did first round of fixes. Removed This Troper, the most glaring perv-type stuff... and will do more work if you think this can somehow be saved.
?I not a big fan of Real Life examples for what is now a subjective trope.
I think we could leave the page, but it seriously needs some clean-up. I could help, if needed.
I did the first round of clean-up, there's still some issues, can we articulate those so I can work on each? I did my best to clean out natter, This Troper, and OTT literal wank so far...
?I really do think this should be cut.
Reality is that, which when you stop believing in it, doesn't go away. -Philip K. DickHm...it could be saved, provided examples are listed clinically, with no "Squee, Jensen Ackles and Misha Collins TOTALLY DID SOMETHING I FIND TO INDICATE THEY ARE PROBABLY GAY!" I mention them, by the way, because they probably are examples—they have plentiful fangirls who desperately want to see their characters (and them) together, and ship them at every available opportunity. Both actors know this and are jovial about it, sometimes teasing the fanbase.
That said, since Ho Yay is about subtext, this precludes any outed gay men from the page (although pre-out I can see working). I think most examples we're going to find is indications of their sexuality before they came out, or simply teasing for the sake of the fans or a joke.
Also, it needs to mention in what ways there is subtext. This:
tells me nothing and provides nothing by way of example.
This:
simply doesn't belong, period. This is the type of thing that people hate about Ho Yay to begin with—fans with overactive imaginations playing up every single look and word as forbidden love.

Supporting cut. It's one thing to have pages about interpreting gay subtext between fictional characters but I think having one about real people crosses a line somewhere.
What is this "sleep" you speak of?I think we should limit it to examples with Word of God
Rhetorical, eh? ... Eight!Cut it,salt it,then nuke it from orbit.
New theme music also a boxSpark9 wins the thread.
I don't know, maybe cutting would be the best option after all ... And if we are going to keep it, we should probably limit the examples to intentional ones, played for fanservice or otherwise, to avoid Natter.
Yipes. I'll cut it.
Goal: Clear, Concise and Witty
I don't know what your opinion is here, but this page flows over with Natter, first-person, usage of "this troper", misuse of the trope, unexplained examples and many more issues.
Should this page be cut and Ho Yay made No Real Life Examples Please?
