Not looking good at all: Spit Take

Am I the only one to think that the picture for Spit Take is ugly? Besides the fact that it isn't a terribly good illustration of the trope.

Frame 4 (The lower half of the vertically-divided one) of this Girls With Slingshots is nice and clear. 3 and 4 (both part of the vertically-divided one) might be even better.

I like Simpsons better than current. The current is odd because he's got a gasmask on.

That is way more coffee than would fit in the cup.

Of everything, I like the Simpsons best, but I'm not really impressed with any of them.

I don't see what's wrong with post 4. It sets up the trope perfectly. Person drinks; something surprising happens; person spits out drink.

That image does actually have context. The others are a person spitting, but not really a "spit take" unless you're familiar with the source.

I need to do some example hunting, but it may not be until the weekend...I'm going to be flying out on a business trip tomorrow and I think I'll be out of the house tonight.

The spit-take is too discrete in the Girls with Slingshots events.

A good image should have both the spit-take AND the source of it.

The Everyday Heroes example is great, though not necessarily exploitable.

The Sabrina Online◊ one is very good too.

In think the animated gif◊ mentionned in the Kamen Rider Den-O example is really great. Sure, we can't have animated gifs as page picture, but still one intermediate picture could be extracted.

I think without "subject is shocked" it is just a picture of something spitting.

I don't follow.

There's the last 2-part panel of this.

The actual Spit Take is really hard to see in that panel.

Eh, it's not quite a proper spit take, I don't think, but the last panel of this comic page might be a possibility.

If we can find a 1080p high definition resolution version this used to be on the page.

Since it seems like everyone is just throwing out suggestions at this point, the last panel of this might be good.

it took me minutes to realize she wasn't spitting out of her chin. (that's not a criticism, I just couldn't get it out of my head that her nose wasn't her mouth.)

These suggestions all seem like a picture of someone spitting, not a Spit Take. Can't tell it's a reaction to something.

On some images the tiny trickle, while "realistic" is nigh unnoticeable. I personally like most the Sabrina Online example, here are resizes

Either's fine with me, although the vertical could come down about 50px in width.
