It's a parody of the Intel logo, but that is all.edited 16th Jan '12 11:01:49 PM by Stratadrake
An Ear Worm is like a Rickroll: It is never going to give you up.
Here's the Portal2 Image. There's also one that shows her in sillohette but this is clearer.
The Crystal Caverns A bird's gotta sing.Completely unreadable.
Sparkling and glittering! Jan-Ken-Pon!
Noticed that. Cropped the negative space a bit. Hope it helps.
The Crystal Caverns A bird's gotta sing.I have to put on my reading glasses for that...
The picture is fine with me since the Intel Inside is a generally well known logo for anyone who owns a mac or pc laptop since 2001. It might help to have a link to the source origin in the caption box.
Also, dislike the black background. Much prefer this [1]◊

You are displaying abnormally high compulsions to over-analyze works of fiction and media. Diagnosis: TV Tropes Addiction.I don't recognize it at all. And just a logo isn't a good image.
The Crystal Caverns A bird's gotta sing. While I am a fan of Portal, without the proper knowledge of G La DOS I have no idea what it is referencing. Plus, even with my fast reading skills, I clocked it at 10 seconds to have to completely grasp the entire text. A picture should be concise and easily conveyable.
I'm not against changing the image but it has to be an improvement.

You are displaying abnormally high compulsions to over-analyze works of fiction and media. Diagnosis: TV Tropes Addiction. The problem is unreadability which I admit I can't fix... But it did show an obviously AI character talking about compliance with the implicit threat of death if disobeyed. But yeah I can't make the text readable. Maybe I should try to fix this tommorow.
The Crystal Caverns A bird's gotta sing. Its a pun off Intel Inside logo which is CPU processors.

Sparkling and glittering! Jan-Ken-Pon!
Last shot at this.
And I don't think a logo is enough. Especially since intell isn't an AI.
The Crystal Caverns A bird's gotta sing. That is just text though (Blurry Text) it might make a good quote though not a good image. (It is in fact already on the quotes page... and is far better than the current main page one.)

Sparkling and glittering! Jan-Ken-Pon!The fact that we can see the AI in question adds to it right?
The Crystal Caverns A bird's gotta sing. The problem I see is that, even though one might argue that the Evil Inside isn't recognizable (which I would disagree with) G La DOS, especially a monochromatic drawing, is even less recognizable. "Who is this random machine? What is this "neurotoxin" being discussed for? Was that supposed to be a joke?"

You are displaying abnormally high compulsions to over-analyze works of fiction and media. Diagnosis: TV Tropes Addiction. The trope is an evil AI. So an evil AI that threatens people who don't comply is this trope. You don't need to know who G La DOS is because the picture shows an Al that is clearly saying things that indicate she's evil.
The Crystal Caverns A bird's gotta sing.I don't get that the machine in that picture is at all evil. All it's discussing (if one can even tell it's the machine is talking) is about some random painkillers and their apparent lack of alliteration to science.

You are displaying abnormally high compulsions to over-analyze works of fiction and media. Diagnosis: TV Tropes Addiction.I'm giving up on that image. I'll come up with something tommorow.
The Crystal Caverns A bird's gotta sing.I know I'm giving up but I point out that the speech bubble is pointing to G La DOS.
The Crystal Caverns A bird's gotta sing. But how is anyone outside the Portal fandom supposed to know that the thing in the center is an AI and not an ordinary PA system...?
An Ear Worm is like a Rickroll: It is never going to give you up.Ignoring the merits of the proposed replacement, the page image looks less like an indication that an AI has gone rogue than it is a mere Take That! at the Intel Corporation. I don't like it, and would support a pull if it came to such a motion.
That being said, I'm also not sure how you can best picture an AI "turning" or "going rampant" or whatever, as the trope indicates. You'd probably need two images from the same source, one undeniably showing the AI as evil, and an earlier one undeniably showing that it was, prior to its "turning", not evil. The first shouldn't be hard. The latter... might be?
Moon◊Alright, I'll pull the trigger.
Motion to pull
Pic is a weak sight gag and doesn't demonstrate the trope at all.
Well, I support the pull, but given the tepid response, maybe I was wrong?
Moon◊Yeah, that is just a Take That!. Off with its head!

Becky: Who are you? The Mysterious Stranger: An angel. Huck: What's your name? The Mysterious Stranger: Satan. How about this◊ image with the top bit (the text) cropped off? The Matrix-style raining code plus the central sphere implies AI and the intimidating look of the Terminators would imply the AI going crazy/evil right?
The image on this page is an image that says. "Evil Inside." There's nothing indicating that the label is talking about a computer and if anything makes it look like we're talking about a Card Carrying Villian. For a replacement I suggest an image of G La DOS from the Portal2 comic. Very few lines of hers don't screm "EVIL" and the comic format allows us to show both her image and her words.
