This might be best left example-less.
And might need a new name, since these works need a writer. I mean, what would "Writer Overboard" be... actually it might mean something, but that's for ykttw.
I'm on the internet. My arguments are invalid.Example Sectionectomy should never be a first resort, and the page doesn't seem to be an out-of-control hatefest to me.
Jet-a-Reeno!I was just throwing it out there. I did not suggest we do that as a first resort.
I'm on the internet. My arguments are invalid. It's not a complete hate fest but there are still a lot examples that are using this to bash a work. A neutral discussion that just explains how this trope plays in works would probably help stop that.
The problem is, you could use that reasoning to delete the examples from virtually any trope.
Sometimes it's necessary to bring out the chainsaw, but I think we can be a little too knee-jerk about it too.
Jet-a-Reeno!I'm not proposing we cut the example section, I'm fine with just cutting the complaining (hardly need a trs thread for that) but it still needs a clearer description that doesn't encourage complaining.

I definitely think it needs work. A lot of the examples read like complaining about variously the authors being liberal, conservative, anti-gun, pro-gun, feminist, anti-feminist etc. There is very much a Complaining About Shows You Dont Like feel to the whole page and I would support an example-ectomy.

This trope's name definitely leads to a bit of confusion. There is little connection between the name, and the rather vague definition of this trope. It is just a very bad snowclone.
I think the main problem is that this trope should be used where the author explicitly explains their viewpoint and why it is in the novel in the first place.
Pretty much any time Karen Traviss is brought into a trope category, the writing is overtly aggressive and inflammatory.
Do not be so quick to make foolish offers, Daemon. Araghast too once thought I would be an asset to his cause. Look what has become of him.
I have no idea what this trope is but the description sounds like a lot of complaining. I get that it might be a Pet-Peeve Trope to a lot of people but there has to be a more neutral way to describe this.
