Started Season 3. Boobs 1 second in. At this point I'm pretty sure you could tell the parents their son and his harem are all demons, and their reaction would amount to "My, I knew this kid was bad seed. D'you want some more tea?"

Then… huh… did they adapt Area 51 in anime while I wasn't looking? =O Lots of developments in these 3 episodes… maybe a tad too many, actually. Episode 3 felt especially rushed, and kind of a repeat of the S2 finale in its conclusion. :x Though I'm surprised Issei didn't use Dress Breaker on Kuroka.

It's weird to see Koneko emote, all of a sudden. It feels like her voice actor had some trouble changing her acting, after voicing her emotionless for 26 episodes. It was quite touching, though. So I assume this season will involve her using her Nekomata powers, almost losing control and being reined in by Issei and/or Rias? I'm kind of seeing it coming…

Oh, and I already like that Valkyrie.

The first 2 seasons pretty neatly adapted 2 volumes each, with season 1 using some of vol 8 as side story filler. Season 3 crammed vol. 5,6, and 7 into 12 episodes and it shows.

Dress Break wouldn't really work on Kuroka due to her personality. Also, more to the point, Issei can now activate Balance Breaker on his own (although with a significant countdown during which he cannot use Boost or Gift).

Regarding Koneko, I could very easily explain that to you, if you wish, since I'm pretty sure the anime never does.

You mean why her character changed so drastically?

And even if Dress Break didn't embarrass Kuroka, it would be sure to give Issei some kind of power-up.

She changed because Issei accepted her Nekoshou side and because he was always friendly to her in spite of hating herself for it.

…The anime skimmed over that yeah, though it was kinda obvious. Sort of? Though Rias surely played a large role in it too.

Season 3 finished… so I was wrong about Koneko going berserk. For now. But I was kinda right! Only it was Issei and Rias instead of Koneko. Issei's reaction when Asia disappeared was heartbreaking. Similarly, that finale was pretty intense. No pervert antics this time (…except to break Asia's restraints. >.>), just raw, genuine feelings. Seeing that nun-collecting demon get his ass kicked in two seconds was pretty cathartic, I must say. And we finally know why it's called "DxD" now!

It's interesting that Issei received confessions and kisses from several girls (hell, some regularly sleep naked with him), but at no point he seems conflicted about it. He just accepts it all. And the girls seem pretty fine with it too, as their reactions never go beyond mild jealousy ("mild jealousy" meaning "earth-shattering battle" in Rias and Akeno's case, but still).

Episode 13 was stupidly hilarious.The Bad Guy of Season 1, folks. I too wanna have a comfy breakfast and a mundane conversation in the middle of a raging blizzard. Why is Issei so excited at peeping at the hot spring, though? He sees the girls' boobs all the damn time. Also, not sure if making Hyoudou "Boob Dragon Emperor" Issei a role model for children is a good idea.

…Rias, Asia, Akeno, Xenovia (? Dunno, she seems to act more out of cluelessness than love), Koneko, Ravel… maybe Irina? The harem is starting to be quite sizeable.

(and yes! Rossweisse joined the club =3 Or rather, she was bribed into joining it.)

So I have to start the LN at volume… 8? Or late 7?

Issei hotspring tendencies: Actually, you can compared that on why some girls get indignant when you (accidentally) peek their underwear, but like to go on public pool on bikinis.

Well, it's kinda weak comparison, I admit, but the logic is kinda the same.

You might even want to go back and read all of the older ones to see what information you missed that may explain things too.

Honestly, Issei's just plain weird when it comes to that. If Issei just asked, I'm pretty sure the girls would gladly let him join them, especially after Volume 3 (although Rossweiss probably wouldn't be cool with it if she's there). However, peeping carries a certain thrill to it that he can't reject. In I wanna say Volume 9 or 10, Issei faces down Rossweiss and actually breaks one of his rules regarding Dress Break in an attempt to peek on girls in a hotel bath during a school trip to Kyoto.

Also, Koneko's not going to go berserk because Kuroka never went berserk. Her original master was a massive jerk, if memory serves, and was about to do something really abusive (possible to Koneko) so Kuroka killed him. I'm currently on Volume 15 and she hasn't shown any signs of going berserk despite having her Nekoshou powers quite a bit.

As for the Chichiryuutei being a role model for children, it all makes perfect sense when you consider that, among the Maou, two of them are Sirzechs "Onii-chan Mask" Gremory and Serafell "Magical Girl Levi-tan" Sitri. Just be thankful that the Maou aren't nearly as bad as the Grigory because those guys are absolutely insane.

Oh, and everything after Loki in Season 3 is all original to the anime. It was caused by Loki going back in time and mucking with things so a bunch of Issei's children went back in time to stop him and set things back on track. If we get a Season 4, it's going to completely ignore the new events of BorN and follow the events of the LNs.

Yeah, I think "after Loki" is a bit too vague, since as far as I can tell, everything except happened to some extent in the novels too.

I meant the fake Issei and the brainwashing Rias stuff, yeah. Although the Boosted Gear Scale Mail Rias will apparently appear in the novels at some point so there's that.

I see… I'm kinda surprised, because it was integrated pretty well in the story. =O Though the fake Issei did kinda come out of nowhere.

That's actually the first time I read a light novel I think (save for All You Need Is Kill), and god onomatopeas in a novel look stupid as hell. >.> It's like the protagonist is constantly Saying Sound Effects Out Loud. You're not writing a manga, author. I know ation scenes are usally awkard in novel form, but here that's like reading a teenage fanfiction… ugh.

Hopefully the author holds back on that during calm scenes.

Vali is now an ultimate devil. Shiva offers Issei to join him after the tournament for the Inevitable War against Indra, but he's not participating but an Asura on Shiva's side is. Indra joined the tourney to have his wish of war against Shiva happen

Ugh… not open… spoilers…

…Good thing I went back to read the Juggernaut Drive scene's LN version. Its resolution is a little… different. But prooobably a bit too jaring, even for the series. So yeah, making the scene more serious in the anime was a wise move, I think. Kiba's narration made it pretty fun to read though. For the entire scene he's like "what the fuck are you writing, author…?"

That has little to do with the author and more to do with Japanese and the translation. They use onomatopoeia a lot, even in real conversations, which can make translating it a bitch and a half if you're going off of a dictionary (unless your dictionary is really damn good). The translation chose to keep them rather than remove them. You get used to them eventually.

So Issei finally became a High Class Devil and now has his own Servants? I assume that Asia and Ravel are his Bishops and Xenovia is one of his Knights. Do we know any of the others besides who you just mentioned?

Then wait until you reach the climax of... I wanna say Volume 11.

I'm surprised he has a guy on his team. Nice to know he won't be like Riser & Diodora as in having an entirely female peerage.

Balance is a good thing. Besides who wouldn't want a fucking dragon as an underling?

Oh yeah, forgot that, heheh. Though it regains some coolness if you think along the lines of "Holy shit, I'm such a badass dragon that other dragons want to follow me so much they are willing to become my pawns instead of striking it out on their own." Cause I think most dragons in general are strong enough to get their own peerage.
