History Page Glitch:

firetrucks
On certain pages on the site (Like Mulan, High Octane Nightmare Fuel, ect) I can't access the history page. When I do, it takes me all the way back to main page of the site.

I'm unsure if it's just me, but I've been noticing this for a couple of days now.

I've been having this same problem too. Whenever I click on page history, it takes me to the page history of the main page instead of the page I was actually on.

Chrome works okay for me, too. Clear your cache. Could be something corrupted in there.

Cleared cache and cookies in both IE and Chrome. The problems still happening.

EDIT: My Samsung Galaxy phone seems to have this problem as well.

Not sure what to tell you. I can't duplicate the issue.

This is happening to me too.

Scratch that, I fixed it already.

Don't screw with Capitalism!
Even Firefox is rather shonky in this regard (I use Chrome, BTW, but I'm using Firefox because I'm on a campus computer that doesn't support Chrome).
It's cold outside, there's no kind of atmosphere I'm all alone, more or less. Let me fly far away from here!

... or not. The issue is back again.

If you didn't catch my earlier post (which you probably didn't), the history button randomly refuses to load for me. The dropdown box and the four other buttons (source, log in, edit, and related entries) all appear, but not the history button. I can access the article history just fine if I manually enter the URL, but there's no link for it.

Yeah, I'm on the Firefox 10.0.2, on Windows XP SP 3, and usually History is fine. But sometimes the History button just ain't there. Sometimes refreshing brings it back, sometimes not. Sometimes it's there when I load the page, and gone after I edit. When the button is available I've never had it take me anyplace weird, though.

I am also on Firefox 9.0.1, and the history page tab sometimes shows up, sometimes not.
I am on chrome. Whenever the history button disappears, I press the edit page button, and then go back without editing. The history button reappears then.

I'm on Firefox 11.0, and the history button disappears on about 1 page in 8. It seems pretty random, and I have the button on the pages mentioned in the OP. I can still reach the history by typing it in the URL bar or using different links, and editing then cancelling that brings the button back.

Edit: Since nobody mentioned trying Safari yet – the problem still happens on Safari 5.0.6.

Not much for me to add to the chorus except that I'm experiencing the vanishing button too. Waiting a few seconds before refreshing usually works, but then it's just as likely to be gone again a few seconds later. And I'm running Firefox 11 as well.

EDIT: Just jumped on IE 9.0.8, exact same thing is happening there.

There are no sane men. Or women.
I also am having this problem with Firefox. Haven't tried other browsers though.

I can confirm the issue Eddie, though it's intermittent.
Reality is that which, when you stop believing in it, doesn't go away.

Confirmed that the bug exists. When you save an edit to an article, the history button does not appear on the resulting page load. Reloading the page or reaching it through another means does show the button.

100% reproducible, just save an edit. Voila, no history button.

Edit: Woops, just saved an edit and it was there. Is Eddie moving fast or is it not actually 100%?

Pressing the edit button and going back without saving makes the button appear for me.

It's completely random. Sometimes, reloading or making a null edit or declining an edit gives the button, sometimes not.

Hmm, yeah, just hit it from the history page. I take back what I said, it's not consistent at all.
I am the true god.
Happpens with my Firefox as well.

And it happens even after going back from the actual History page.

By the way, was the history button recently changed to be on the bottom of the page, instead of the top as it usually has been? I just now noticed this...
