Here, discuss the seasons, playoffs, players, practice, and so on.
I'll start. I'm a Bulls and Pistons fan. My Pistons are disappointing me right now, but my Bulls are kicking ass. As of the start of January 2012, they may have gotten most of the worst of this awkward 2011-2012 season over with. The annual Circus Road Trip*
When the Ringling Bros. & Barnum and Bailey Circus comes to the United Center each fall, the Bulls and Blackhawks have a few weeks of arduous away games. This means that they have more home games later in the schedule, though.
is behind them, and they've gotten their west coast games and some of the back-to-backs behind them, so it's gonna be a little easier physically for a bit.
Wow. I almost let the first post go without putting up this:

I'm gonna take this to the Trope Repair Shop later on, but just letting you guys know: I want to split up "Basketball". Different pages for men's pro, womens' pro, college, world, history and individuals.
He's a hometown kid, humble almost to a fault, no scandals, and he's talented. You're a hater. It's one of those things that you look back on that draft and think "man that was a good choice". Him or Michael Beasley, how was it even a question? And on the flip side, Joe Dumars will Never Live It Down for choosing Darko Milicic over Carmelo Anthony, Chris Bosh and Dwayne Wade. They're not perfect, and have been immature, but there's a clear difference in talent. The Detroit "going to work" mentality may have had them turn out different.
My teams had the best pre-game songs. The Pistons were the first to do "The Final Countdown", and combined it later with (local) Kid Rock's Bawitdaba. Rasheed added his own thing. Now they've got (local) Eminem's Lose Yourself. And of course, they had "Going to Work", linked above.
The Bulls had the (local) Alan Parsons Project's "Sirius", directed by the (local) Wachowski Brothers. If you never watched a Bulls game live, here it is below. It would change a certain detail for whoever was visiting that game.

So the All Star Ballot is out, and as usual it's absurd. Maybe not "the fans will still vote an injured Shaq in" absurd, but still, 6 Pacers players? You serious?
At least they got Metta World Peace's name right.
I'm sure he's smiling with that mouth full of teeth.
Sure, you left a terrible mark on the Palace of Auburn Hills, which in no way is connected to my dislike of the number of Pacers players available for voting, but you can actually say funny stuff.

As a Pistons and Bulls fan living in north texas, I gotta say, the beginning of this week has been kind of sucky. The Pistons are still no good, the Mavs are mediocre, and I couldn't root for any team when the Pistons played the Bulls as I have an interest in the success of all sides. Couldn't we just have a season where everyone beats up on Miami?
I really want the pistons to be good again. And Chicago to win a championship this year.
I don't follow college, so I could use some help when I get around to splitting the basketball article as mentioned above. Damn shame to hear the Big East is dying as a basketball conference, though. I don't like the "football first" mentality.

As a Chicago fan in Chicago, I couldn't agree more. Got a nice scare with D Rose tonight, but at least they squeaked out a win.
It really sucks about the Big East's massive decline. And college football would be a lot better with a playoff system, as demonstrated by the pitiful BCS Championship game last night.
We've got the deeper team, with the best record, off of the hardest schedule so far, and we're playing without our number 2 guy. We've got humbler, nicer guys. Plus, we don't have David Stern in our corner...
I missed the first half, so I was wondering if Boozer was hurt or something. Four quick fouls? Whatever, refs. Did he actually foul that bad?
I know htis thread seems to have a strong Bulls bias, but that's only because Firebert and I are the ones driving conversation. We need more people here. And Heat fans, I promise to limit the hate on your opinion. I can't say I won't do it at all, or one... two, not three, not four, five six seven times, but I'll try to keep it down.

I gotta say, not just because he's knocking Derrick Rose for yesterday, but I really dislike Colin Cowherd. At best, I just leave it on for background noise.
Maybe it's completely unintentional or coincidental, but he really just doesn't seem to get black or young people. Completely intentionally, he doesn't get any sport with international appeal (actualfootball, tennis and so on). Calling American football more popular than soccer because it's more popular in America? What.
To bring this back on topic, the football first focus of several announcers is really underwhelming. I understand that basketball can't be everyone's favorite sport, and at least it's not shafted as much as hockey, but it does leave some care to be desired.
As mentioned before, I live not to far from the Mavericks. I like to see them do well to see their actual fans happy. But every now and then, a lot of Dallas fans seem to come out of nowhere.

Ooh, didn't know that this thread existed.
Well, my Raptors are 7-14, with a 9 game stretch of home games coming up. If we can play like how we played against the Nets, we could be pretty decent once Bargs comes back.
...then again, it was the Nets we blew out on the road.
