First impression is overall pretty good. Very old school wow in gameplay. I've got like 170 AP that I haven't touched. Was thinking of pouring them into pistols and related skills. Either that or rifle/pistol split.

Doing an annoying as all hell quest. Got to grab toy tires for this bitch after I killed a bunch of tinkerers. Okay, not to bad. Well I've been scaving for about 30 minutes and I've found 3/10. Compared to the 15/6 steel pipes required.

RNG hates me.

I would pick one weapon to focus on. If you use pistols you can also use SMGs.

The Rifle skill skill is all long guns like sniper rifles, shotguns, and assault rifles.

Pick a weapon skill, boost it up. Also pick the requisite stat that supports it and boost that up, too. I'm Melee, Tuef is longarms, so you could be a compromise character and go with pistols. I see a lot of guys running around with pistols, actually, so I guess it works.

Downloaded it and installed it, should make it on late tonight.

Pistols/SMG's are lower damage but higher dps. Rifles are higher damage lower DPS. It really depends on your play style. Me I prefer to carve a selected path through mob crowds or to soften up tough enemies before they close.

Pvt. I just finished several missions in the junk fort solo. Still level 12 :P If you need a hand in plowing through the fort quests let me know when your back on. I recently made out for King north and west a bit from Embry.

Also if you pick pistols I can help you out by crafting some for you. It ups my ballistics skills to craft them and gets you some decent starting kits.

I'm just a sliver away from 12, myself. Was grinding some Survivalists by Embry for the neat loot and stuff, made over half a level in less than an hour.

I found the gully dogs around terrance to be a great source of income. Terrance is a great starter town. Lots of common resources like copper around. Also some iron and coal further out. As well as plastic scraps. The enemies are pretty damn easy kills.

Plenty of plant life around to harvest as well. If you need ragged cloth bits kill some diggers. Need ragged hide kill some creepers or critters. Good location plenty of easy quests for starters.

Plenty of trainers and merchants and work spaces as well.

Part of what made terrance great is there is a large chunk of docile gully dogs you can just stand around and plink or thunk over the head. They tend to carry an impressive amount of loot on them for common thugs. The area is pretty easy to faff about in.

The RNG took pity on my plight and bestowed upon me not only the 7 tires I required but a black box worth 3 red. A quick trip to the AH and I'm now the proud owner of a motorcycle. Gas is a bit pricey compared to feed but I really don't spend cash on anything. Armor is my next concern. Currently I'm wearing the duster which, while looking fucking awesome, doesn't do much to mitigate damage.

Have fun buying gas....!

You can link up with us; I can make okay armor myself.

Finally got on last night, made my way up to Terrance, beat the tar out of Gully Dogs for awhile. The junk nodes drop plastic, too, so I can make goggles and boost my science skill even more. I guess I can hang out up there before making my way towards Oilville and do more of my ATV questline.

I have to do more of my You're Dying, Clone questline, also.

I am kicking around in Kingsville. I probably won't be on tonight as it is Friday and I have a short turn around between getting off work and my 12 hour shift on Saturday.

However I have Saturday and Sunday open for crafting, smacking things, and shooting things in the face. I am going to be crafting pistols of the gun powder type to raise my ballistics to the level needed for effecient ammo production meaning I make more bullets per lot of gunpowder.

I might want to get this game tomrrow on steam, by virtue of its free to play. For one, is it freenium and the free to play is semi-correct, and if I do so, what do you recommend to a fuckwit who has no experince to this game at all? ((AKA ME))

A pretty fun guy to be around.

It is free with perks with premium. Perfectly playable in free mode. Your biggest obstacle will be crafting.

As for reccomendations that depends on your play style.

One more question, by Perks, is it anything game changing? Because i dislike freenium.

EDIT: Read a wiki FAQ, sure, 25% slower ness might seem bad, buts a fair trade for reasonble free to play.

I think crafting speed in general improves, more crafting slots, more space in your inventory, and I think maybe faster xp/ap.

It is perefectly playable without the premium. Quite a few free players are also in the clans. I get at least clan invite per session.

Yeah, it's doable in free mode, although I'm half-tempted to drop coin for the crafting stuff. Just made 12 in Terrance, enjoying the loot pinatas that are Gully Dogs (tinfoil stacks nicely and sells pretty good).

@pvt: I'm only level seven currently. Gonna level up a bit more before I join up with you guys.

@betrayer: The game feels sort of like old school wow having sex with fallout. Quest markers exist but only show you to the general area of where you need to go. Mobs are actually challenging and will fuck you up if you're not careful. Crafting is a long, hard process that you will do actively instead of ignoring till you hit level cap. It's a hard game for hard men. Or bored people who don't like spending money.

It has that wasteland feel to it that is for sure. Don't bite off more than you can chew.

If any of you need help with tough quests or you new players need a decent Plattmaster or Air Rifle let me know. I will help you out and craft up some gear for ya. I have completed the quest lines for the Junk Fortress mostly Solo. Mob management like killing a mob and leaving the body so they don't respawn helps.

Pvt: Told you Terrance good territory for looting.

Moved on to Oilville for a bit to do more ATV stuff, although Terrance is a great spot to grind crafting junk (and to resell). Will head up to Kingsman for some quests I picked up awhile (long while) ago, and might even head north to Point Chris to finish up my ATV stuff.

Also, shoot me and Tuef your ingame names so we can add you to our friends list.

Gotta stick together; running alone is a great way to discover the joys of The Recloning Express.

...currently trying to get my Weapons skill to 45 so I can make better machetes. All I need is a hockey mask and I'm all set.

Lol. You doing the crafting line of quests for the ATV Pvt? I am still knocking about on my riding horse. I wonder if the extra crafting slots are permanent or only when your premium is active. If they are perma I would buy a months worth of premium for the slots.

Well, I want to do the ATV stuff for the experience, mostly. I'll leave the gas-burner in storage, since a quality horse is very low maintenance (I haven't had to feed mine in like, forever) and thus cheaper to run.

Supposedly the gas hogs are faster. Not entirely sure on that.

I have been seriously neglecting my construction skill.
