Oh, well that's good then, thanks for the clarification Raineh. Just less specialized shapeshifting then.

So, judging by the accepted character list in the opening post, I take it we can use/make more than one character? If yes, I have this idea for an illusionist-type mage: He can make just about anything look like just about anything, but can only change the looks of things. In other words; he can make a house dissapear for the eye, but it will still be there if you try and touch it.

  • Name: Francis Zedricus Zalostran/ Zedrick Ignavus
  • Species/Race: Human
  • Gender: Male
  • Age: 24
  • Appearance: Tall, gangly, and painfully skinny. Scruffy hair and a scraggly beard, all of his clothes are a bit threadbare.
  • Possessions: A staff with what is supposed to look like a carving of a snake winding around it but looks more like an earthworm, a collection of well-worn and ratty magic textbooks.
  • Personality: Zed gives off an air of nervousness, as though he is always under a great deal of stress. When he relaxes, though, he displays a cunning and sharp sense of humor. He tries to give off an air of world-weary cynicism, but he is still rather gullible in some areas. Has a bit of a romantic streak. Being reminded of his numerous failures is a minor Berserk Button for him.
  • Skills: The only bit of magic he can do consistently well is healing spells. Has some considerable skill at them, even though his formal training as disasterous, so he works as a back-alley doctor in the shadier part of the city. Most of the time his attempts at offensive spells either fizzle out entirely, backfire onto himself, or do something completely unexpected. It is for this reason that in the case of a fight, his staff is mostly used to hit people over the head to give him a chance to run away. Has managed to absorb some bits of knowledge in nearly all fields of magic, though almost none of it useful.
  • Bio: The Zalostrans are a well-known line of mages in the city, all extremely powerful at their chosen craft, all very influential in Hercine, and all alumni of the Whitebolt Academy. All until Francis, that is. Francis Z. Zalostran, the youngest of eight siblings, has the dubious distinction of having failed at least one class by each and every single instructor in the entire academy, much to his father's disgust. It's not that he doesn't have the capability for it, it's just that for some reason, almost every bit of magic he's tried has gone spectacularly wrong. Frustrated with the growing debacle the whole affair had become, his Father kicked him out. Or Francis left on his on - there's some disagreement as to what actually happened.
To escape from his family's shadow, Francis took a new name for himself - Zedrick (a modified version of his middle name) Ignavus (His beloved mother's maiden name). He now makes a living as a sort of magical Back-Alley Doctor in the lower class parts of town - mostly for people who don't want to have to answer the types of questions real doctors would ask. This contact with the city's criminal element has, unfortunately, resulted in him owing some rather large debts to a few people.
  • Other: The original version of this character, made for another RP, was designed as something like a cross between Wile E. Coyote and Rincewind the Wizzard.

Okay, second character go:

  • Name: Thomas Leblanc
  • Species/Race: Human
  • Gender: Male
  • Age: 22
  • Appearance: Due to his powers, Thomas can look pretty much whatever he wants to look like, including something that's not even human. At the moment, hhe has long blonde hair, green eyes and an almost unnaturally pale skin. For the eye, he's wearing a fancy red coat, brown pants and a golden ring on his right hand.
  • Possessions: Aside from the clothes on his body, Thomas doesn't own a whole lot. He has a magic staff used to channel his powers, a dagger and a little bit of money. He "lives" at one of the cheaper inns.
  • Personality: Thomas is a bit of a trickster. Though not actively malevolent, he loves to play tricks with people. Things like making a fake wall appear in the middle of the road, hiding the door to a building, stuff like that.
  • Skills: Thomas is an illusionist. He can make just about anything appear real for the eye and ear. However, nothing he conjures has any physical form. For example, If one would approach the wall mentioned before, he or she could walk straight through it. On the other hand, if Thomas hides a hole in the ground, anyone who would step on it would fall straight through, seemingly disappearing into the ground. In combat, he mostly uses his abilities to distract his opponent so that he can either run away or get beyond his target's defense.
  • Bio: Thomas has a irregular job at Hercine's theater (Or whatever Hercine's equivalent of a theater would be). He gives shows with his illusion magic, conjuring (amongst other things) fireworks and other pretty things on one night and a harmless monster battle on another. When he's not at work, he tends to sprawl the streets, sometimes giving some unscheduled shows on the roadside for some spare change.

umm...just as a forewarning, the stage acting business in Hercine is a little more...intense than might be expected. But I think that mostly applies to higher up actors and long time residents.

So, I kinda decided my initial idea didn't really work out well, so I'd like to try something else. Here's hoping this works. >.<

  • Name: Celeste Rosario Corsair, Prince of Thieves
  • Species/Race: Half-sidhe (specifically, his mother was a leanan sidhe)
  • Gender: Male
  • Age: 54, yet looks to be in his early 20s.
  • Appearance: Behold! A beautiful bishonen brigand in becoming bodice and breeches bearing to the business of burglary!
  • Possessions: As the leader of the Thieves Guild, Celeste has the first pick to the entirity of their stash, although he usually gives a lot of it away to the poor. He wears a specially tailored outfit, enchanted to resist damage and provide him with protection from hostile magic. His most treasured possession is his sword, "Edge of Delusion", the first thing he ever stole. It is a beautiful weapon, its hilt encrusted with precious jewels, and with a blade that seems to catch the light no matter where it is pointed or how dark it is. The light reflected from it seems to bend and distort the image of the blade, and those who look upon it cannot tell its proper shape and length, making it a very hard weapon to deflect or dodge. Additionally, those who are wounded but not killed by the weapon start to have strange hallucinations until the wounds heal.
  • Personality: Firmly believes in not only honour among thieves, but among those they apply their business too. He can be sneaky and underhanded at time, but he abhores simple thugs and bandits. He's very much the foppish dandy, possessing an overly theatrical and dramatic persona. A man of culture and sophistication, he often quotes poetry and lines from literature and plays, and his three biggest loves in life are beautiful art, beautiful music and beautiful men. Celeste is camp, flaming, and very, very gay. Whilst he is usually a pleasant individual when he's in a good mood, and it's very hard to get him angry, those who invoke his ire are either too stupid to live or too brave for their own good.
  • Skills: Celeste is an expert swordsman, and thanks to his fey blood he ages much slower than ordinary men. His speed, agility and swiftness goes beyond human limits, and at full speed he seems to be little more than a blur to onlookers. For some reason, possibly due to either training or another blessing from his blood, his footsteps make no noise, no matter what the circumstances.
  • Bio: It surprises a lot of people when they find out the true identity of the leader of Hercine's Thieves Guild, and few would expect him to be none other than the city's premier art connoisseur and overall foppish dandy Celeste R. Corsair. Many of the inductees to the guild are taken by surprise when they discover this, as he makes it a point to personally greet all new members. But his association with the guild stretches back as far as he can remember. The son of an artist and his leanan sidhe lover, he grew up mostly in the care of his mother as his father died soon after he was born. Because of this, he has always had an appreciation for fine art and the finer things in life in general, but being poor meant that these things were forever out of his grasp. So he joined the thieves guild and began his life of larceny, making a stir in the then stagnating guild by openly announcing his crimes in advance and stealing his prizes right under the noses of the guards set up to stop him. Not only that, but he made sure only to keep the choicest pieces of art for himself; everything else he tended to simply give to the poor. Eventually, his overly theatrical stylings caught the ire of the (now former) leader of the guild, whom Celeste remembers as a "disgustingly dishonourable dilettante", and the two eventually came to blows. Celeste struck down the former-leader, and sent him running out of town before setting himself up as the new leader of the guild. Ever since he assumed leadership, the guild has hit something of a rennaisance; changing from the grungy gang of unscrupulous individuals it once was to a more honourable society, one that gleefully carries out its business with style and flair.
  • Other: Celeste has a lover, an incredibly beautiful human who almost everyone mistakes for a woman. The two find this rather amusing, and keep up the charade, leading to pretty much the entire city believing that Celeste's gay lover is in fact his wife. He is also good friends with the Westeilwell family, and tries to visit them whenever he can.

Hopefully, this is alright. ^^.

  • Name: Chunhwa
  • Species/Race: Human Immortal
  • Gender: Female
  • Age: 216
  • Appearance: This is the perfect example of what her appearance should be like. Lucky to have found it.
  • Possessions: A fairy tree staff that can be used to channel ki as well as her fairy gourd and various articles of clothing stored within the mystic container, as well as the inside of a house.
  • Personality: Chunhwa is a happy go lucky girl that goes about life to have fun, and make things fun for everybody else. Cheerful and slightly ditzy, she reminds people of an airheaded girl even though she's sufficiently older than most humans. Underneath her fluffy exterior is a warm and sisterly side that bespeaks of her true age, a person who has lived long enough to be considered learned.
  • Skills: Chunhwa is very good at allowing ki to flow through her and use it to her advantage. Often times, she mixes her own ki with the natural world's energies and catalysts to create projections. Most of the time, they are only for fun or illusions only. If forced to fight, then Chunhwa can essentially shoot out dozens of ki enhanced compressed air bullets or create barriers by solidifying the air. She can also create projections of butterflies that home in on her targets. Though frail, she has a collection of technique oriented martial arts move that make use of her ability to target other's ki points.
  • Bio: Some time around her 16th summer, Chunhwa wandered off into a forest on a special day. She freed a disguised spirit (which was in the form of a fox) from the trap and then got lost. To repay its debt, the spirit provided her with the wand as well as fairy food. After consuming the magic peaches and drinking the mystic dew, the girl then never aged again. Seeing as the forest was very hard to leave, the now immortal girl decided to live among the spiritual beings and learned many things from them. When she left to procure some food again, she somehow exited the forest accidentally and ended up in a vastly different land separated from her homeland by a rather large ocean. Now, she's attempting to find a way back into the spiritual woodland she has called home for two centuries, but not before having some fun.

Alrighty, lets see.

For Moerin, have the hallucinations caused by the blade only happen every once in a while until the wounds are healed. Being afflicted for days by constant hallucinations can be quite a problem. The Prince of Thieves is in a powerful position so as her player remember that with great power comes great responsibility.

As for Grey Star, love Chunhwa. Approved!

Nah, I figure that, like any higher up as long as the money rolls in and there aren't any problems some mild bribery can't fix he shouldn't be too much of a pain. Must admit i have reservations about giving a player that powerful a position but that's Daltar's problem.

Well I did say I wouldn't be shy in giving power if asked for it. Though that said, the more power you have the more I shall keeps tabs on people to make sure no abuse is committed and that everyone is having fun. While starting from the bottom is always fun I didn't want to limit the players to only stick to that power and importance level.

I generally try not to play powerful character, to be honest, but I liked the idea I had here and kinda wanted to try it out. I like to think I'm fair, but... Hurm, we'll see how this works out.

Besides, as long as you've been good little thieves he won't have any reason to chastise you, will he?tongue
