Not exactly sexy: Snakes Are Sexy

The guy looks a bit...questionable. Perhaps this would speak sexy in the 70s, but it doesn't fit the bill here. The image immediately popping into mind is the famous MTV Britney Spears performance. 1◊, 2◊

Not sexy? I don't know what you're talking about.

I'm confused by the trope itself. Is the emphasis on the snake being sexy or the snake adding to the overall sex appeal of the person with the snake?

If it's the latter, I know a certain◊ someone◊ who this can apply to.

Lilith◊?

It has boobs but it's high culture and all that.

My vote for classic art. And classic art always gets a pass on the nsfw department.

I like the Lilith one (the Collier version), but maybe it's a little easy on the "sexy" side of things. She's naked, sure, but it doesn't quite invoke "this snake is supposed to be adding to my sexiness"—which is why I liked the Britney Spears one. Clearly there, she's strutting in skimpy clothes, the snake dangling around her neck as a sort of fashion accessory.

Why not use a snake dancer?◊

I like this a lot. It strikes the balance between sexy and safe for work really well.

I say put the Boa Hancock action figure and the Shin Megami WE DID DEMONS BEOFRE GAMEFREAK picture on Image Links. If there were a crowner to replace those I would choose those two but are you all really set on replacing the guy? He seems tame enough.

edit:Then again I can understand why people would be averse to Jake Roberts.

Finally got where I can see all the pics. Of everything so far, I like either of the Britney pics (prefer the second) or the dancer...the rest would be good Image Links fodder...except for Jake "The Snake", that's about as sexy as a roadkill armadillo.

WHO in the name of God, thought that THAT THING was even remotely sexy!? This one needs a new image. Badly. Yeah, I too vote for Boa Hancock, I think she's fine.

If I had been drinking anything I would probably have done a Spit Take and ruined my keyboard.

In all seriousness my vote goes to the snake dancer suggested in post 9. It's safe for work, it's uncomplicated, and it has a certain elegance to it that the others seem to lack.

I want to say we should do a sexy naga, lamia and such art.

We've got a lot of good options. Wanna just do a crowner and resolve this quickly?

I thought this was about snake motifs to enhance a character's appeal, not literal "sexy snakes".

The examples are both and truly this trope is both as alot of Anamorphic snakes are treated as sexy and seductrices (sp) . (Lamia's are really popular with this and even Naga get this.)

Even Naga's in World Of Warcraft get this in their lore, art and such.

Hmm. This may need some TRS clarification, then.

I agree the description already covers it all but I suppose it could be rewritten a bit, softsplit or full on split (the latter I don't think is needed.) especially without this element it is pretty much the Snake On A Shoulder trope that I forget the name of.

Edit: Feather Boa Constrictor that's it.
