The forecast now says 6 of the next 7 days here have a 30% or greater chance of snow. Below zero temps are also possible.
"Allah may guide their bullets, but Jesus helps those who aim down the sights."Twas close to -10 F this morning. Apparently, it was so bad that one of our water pipes decided to quit life. Its remains almost made a ice skating rink out of our garage, so now we're without running water until a plumber can show up to help fix it tomorrow morning.
Lampshade Hanging: It's a lifestyle.^ When it gets that cold run a faucet on a light flow. Pipes don't freeze easily if there's running water going on.
We had to do so several times this past week. It got so cold in the garage for instance that literally everything water based in there from soda to beer to bottled water decided to freeze. It got almost as cold as the freezer out there.
"Allah may guide their bullets, but Jesus helps those who aim down the sights."79 degrees. I am definitely sweating from humidity and the volcanic fog is giving me a headache. It's funny how many people where I'm at complain about being cold at 60 degrees when they haven't experienced true frozen conditions below 30 degrees. Of course, a majority of you guys here would think 60 degrees is very warm.
Some folks on the Internet think they're a special GIFT to the world, and others aren't. In this perspective, they're kind of right.@Wolf: Those peeps are either old people, spoiled teens,or it's Summer time in which case it's acceptable to consider 60 cold (just means you have no idea how to deal with wind chill in July, which is normal for non San Francisco/non Seattle people). Okay maybe Floridians and Hawaiians
As for me,I'm looking forward to this snowstorm coming in.
Luminous beings are we, not this crude matter^^ For 7 months of the year 60 degrees can very well be very warm around here. Cold weather can come to Colorado as early as September and leave as late as May unless you're at a high elevation. Note

"Allah may guide their bullets, but Jesus helps those who aim down the sights."you guys it's 30 whole degrees (F). and it'll be 34 tomorrow! it's been in the negatives( not counting windchill) all month. WHOO! WARMTH!
Got a degree in Emotional trauma via fictional characters aka creative writing. hosting S'mores party in Hell for fellow (evil) writersYeah, it's mostly a bunch of people who probably have never been to a real freezing environment due to the really warm weather most of them at used to. The hottest it can get around here is around 80 degrees and the coldest is around 60 degrees. Of course, I live in Hawaii... for now.
Some folks on the Internet think they're a special GIFT to the world, and others aren't. In this perspective, they're kind of right.Traditionally, seasonally speaking next week the extreme cold breaks for much of the country especially the Rocky Mountain and Great Plains regions. For example starting February 18 in Colorado you no longer see below zero temperatures. Two weeks later it's all but impossible to get below 10. Within a month of that it's rare to get even a degree below 20. A month after that and the frosts and freezes cease completely. (Seven days after that and you have summer temps already.)
"Allah may guide their bullets, but Jesus helps those who aim down the sights."Second winter storm North Carolina sitrep.
It's pretty poor out here.
Heavy rain yesterday and it's all gone and frozen over again, massive ice sheets on all the houses and cars and most importantly trees.
Branches keep falling the power will blink out every hour or so as we lose more powerlines.
Oh really when? Here we are gearing up for our third or fourth big snow of the year. Why can't we get all this snow in December when we're happily singing about the stuff?
Fresh-eyed movie blogStarted snowing a couple of hours ago up here in Frederick county, Virginia.

What he said, but unlike him I've got my ass some hills to sled up and down....thank you Blue Ridge Hills
But the teachers were schizo about class cancellations. Some were and some weren't.

Luminous beings are we, not this crude matterI missed two days of work this week because they were closed due to snow. Now it's melting some, and melting snow plus a dirt road plus a big hill equals burning much rubber to get out of the driveway. At least I got to make some snow cream.
It snowed for the first time this year on the west coast of Scotland late last night/early this morning. Since I live in a sort of valley thing, and my dad lives on top of a really big hill along with the rest of the population of his home village, (well, a wee bit higher up than the rest - the local geography is quite variable), he is currently getting snowed on quite a bit at the moment and I get to smile wryly and wait til the hammer comes down here as well.
