I think is suppose to be Gwen Stacy acting like a Rich Bitch when she's more commonly know as a kinder love interest...But still, I agree that it takes a bit more than common knowledge to get it.
"I know where I am, I just don't know where I am in where I am." - MeI think this'll take a two parter, labeled with year of release on both sides.
Yeah, unwritten rule number one: follow all the unwritten procedures. - CamacanYeah, I agree that this would take a two-parter to show it for any example.
Support Gravitaz on Kickstarter!Yeah, Gwen had a mean streak when first introduced, then became just super-nice.
Turns out there's a website that's already done a lot of the heavy lifting on the changes to Gwen.
Tons of possibilities there, but these are probably my favorites:
Jet-a-Reeno!Motion to pull
Pic doesn't show enough of the trope.
I agree that this is gonna need at least a two-panel pic.
Seconding the pull.
Support Gravitaz on Kickstarter!Support pull.
Fight smart, not fair.Pull as JAFFAC.
Someone added a new picture without posting it here first. Would anyone like to share their opinions on it?
Text is hard to read and I don't see how that's any better than what we pulled
If the text was readable and a second panel using a batman with his now standard "I hate guns" thing then I could see it working.
Sparkling and glittering! Jan-Ken-Pon!That's more of an Out-of-Character Moment, as Batman has always hated guns as far as I know
The new pic would have to be paired with one of him saying he doesn't like guns with a caption noting the shift.
Not for the first couple years. It's not like he had a gun on his utility belt, but he used them when he needed to.
Not even that. It showed up in the first issue and then never again as sort of the reason he doesn't use guns.
Reality is that, which when you stop believing in it, doesn't go away. -Philip K. DickThen it is this trope we just have to find something to match it to.
Sparkling and glittering! Jan-Ken-Pon!Very few people have any idea Batman has ever used a gun. Even fewer than the number of people who know he disdains guns.
Becky: Who are you? The Mysterious Stranger: An angel. Huck: What's your name? The Mysterious Stranger: Satan.I don't like western comics (especially DC) and even I know that one. But if we can find a pic of him flat out saying "I hate guns" or "I refuse to use guns" etc it would work.
Edit: Actually it might be Early-Installment Weirdness more than this.

Sparkling and glittering! Jan-Ken-Pon!Shimaspawn, you've got that slightly wrong.
He used a gun in the first issue of his own comic, which is what you're talking about, but Batman had already been appearing in Detective Comics and using guns for a year or so before that.
And Early-Installment Weirdness doesn't have a picture yet. Batman gets my vote. Should we start a new thread for that?
Edit: According to the description for Early-Installment Weirdness, "When a character displays this, it's Characterization Marches On." So I guess using Batman as an image would be misleading.

Is that a deliberate misinterpretation of the idea that overlapping tropes might in some cases interfere with the clarity of an example? It wouldn't at all in that one.
Almost every guideline is case-by-case, there are very few rules that apply to all articles regardless.

Becky: Who are you? The Mysterious Stranger: An angel. Huck: What's your name? The Mysterious Stranger: Satan.Deliberate? Probably not, because I still don't really understand what I misinterpreted.
Actually, I think I just misinterpreted that line in the description. Yeah, I assumed it was saying "this trope doesn't apply to characters," but it wasn't.

Bumping. Are we all done here?
Alt account of Angeldog 2437.
Can someone explain what's going on in the image?
Yeah, I think this needs a change.
