Best place to survive a major economic crisis?

Really, Right now, If oil ran out we could adapt. ten years back It'd be complete hell, but now, many cars are hybrid or even electric. Solar power is advancing in leaps ad bounds, ect. And there is synthetic fuels. Many Fighter jets run off of them.

Plus, ethanol. While pure ethanol is a pain in the ass and bad for engines, The problems could be over come.

Ethanol might actually be an even worse idea than gasoline unless you either happen to have a pocket dimension of a shitload of arable land and irrigation water, have successfully weaned yourself off of food, or want to go ahead and finish torching the economy to the ground.

^ And have poor gas mileage and engine performance on top of that!
