That says "flaying" but not "alive" I don't think.

Guy with a saw is more demonstrative, and less squicky as he's still obviously motile. I'll support it in either with- or without-speech bubble variants. What exactly is the current image from, though?

The speech bubble version of the man with the saw has my vote.

Hmm, I do like the sigil.

Rhymes with "Protracted."

The current image is the immediate aftermath of what Willow did to Warren in the Buffy season six episode "Villains."

Throwing in these images of St. Bartholomew, who, As You Know, attained the crown of martyrdom by being flayed alive. While gross, they are also wonderfully whimsical.

Let's just say and leave it at that.

Of those, I like the statue the best.

For the saw guy, the speech bubble version is better IMO. It helps lighten the mood of the picture.

Might be able to get stuff from white New Phyrexians from Mt G.

I think I prefer the statue to everything...some kind of caption parodying "Staying Alive"?

Sculpture is awesome, but I think that is kind of myopic. If have no idea who that is, it is just some statue.

Marble just doesn't say "flayed alive" to me. Even if the caption explains why it's an example, that's a lot of weight on the caption.

If we really need to replace the image I move for the comic version, with the speech bubble as it's in character for Warren to be not only incredibly frightening but make an Incredibly Lame Pun.

I like the comic with the speech bubble best, followed by one of the statue ones. I really dislike the current image.

That was the amazing part. Things just keep going.

If a larger version could be found, I'd suggest this version of the House Bolton emblem.

Or there's the Bolton emblem from ASongOfIceAndFireOtherMajorHouses.*

I dunno, I think the comic version is a bit more squicky because it's so detailed. I think the current pic is actually less nasty, but at the same time less demonstrative of the trope. I think if this one's going to have a picture, it should be something super-cartoony. Failing that though, the comic image works.

I like the comic one the best. Is it Jane Doe from Batman or is it from another comic?

can we just crowner this up and get on with it?

I'd say a crowner would be the best way to sort things out. If we don't do a crowner though, my vote goes toward the comic.

The bubble is a bad pun, but helps with clarifying the image.
