Technically, Marvel's Infinity Comics (and their predecessors, Infinite Comics) are webcomics, not comic books, but it's fine to talk about their X-Men related stories here.
Discussions that are only about X-Men adaptations in other media (films, video games etc.) are off-topic, but discussing the differences between the adaptations and the original comics is fine - as long as spoilers for the adaptations are tagged.

- tag spoilers for the latest issues, for any previews or content leaks, and for off-topic comics. When including spoiler tags, try to write so that tropers can make an informed decision before viewing them (e.g. which series and issue will they spoil?).
I have to say that the X Men franchise has been going on for decades. Maybe not as many as the Superman franchise has, but it still has quite a number to it.
One thing I am certain of is that the franchise seems to be subverting Status Quo Is God in recent years. Magneto and Professor Xavier seem to be fading into the background, with Cyclops and Wolverine taking their places. A lot of villains associated to the X-Men have been killed off and have actually stayed dead so far.
All this gives me the general impression that the franchise is trying to reinvent itself. Do you think that's what's going on here?

Yeah, attacking Bendis is just dickish. From everything I've seen, Bendis seems to be a genuinely good guy. It's fair to attack his work, but not him, personally. Like, I can understand people being dicks to someone like Slott - he's a dick right back, and brings some level of animosity on himself. But I've never heard anything about Bendis behaving as anything less than a gentleman.
Of course, Twitter is a place for assholes to be assholes. So, Bendis being attacked isn't the least bit surprising.

Twitter is nothing but DEATH and CRIME and the RAGE of a BEAST!!!
But yeah, attacking a guy's work is one thing,(I've got plenty of issues with Bendis' body of work and his general writing style myself,) but that doesn't mean the man himself deserves to be attacked. This ain't Millar or Miller we're talking about here.

For what it's worth, having read issue itself now, I get what Bendis' sentiments were to the very least. After seeing how their future selves turn out, the O5 or more or less making a commitment of walking new paths. So this resulted in Angel's new wings and Bobby accepting his Sexuality.
The Execution could have been a lot better, but yeah.

I found ANXM #40 to be pretty good. There were some things I definitely liked about the scene - Jean's gesturing when trying to get Bobby to understand she's saying he's gay was hilariously perfect - and some things I wasn't quite as happy with. I also loved Maria Hill headdesking about another mutant situation. And I'm interested in seeing what the Utopians are all about. It's an interesting collection of characters. Including Random! Yay for really stupid but inexplicably cool PAD characters from the '90s!

I've got no issues with Bobby being gay but this list is kind of ridiculous.
Bendis gonna Bendis I guess. What else is new. If this development was done with tact I wouldn't care, but this is laughably bad.
